The End of CBT

Hiya all,

I remember joining the PoE CBT about a year and a half ago, and it seems almost yesterday I was able to join in and test this beautiful and polished ARPG. This game has progressed so far since it's early state, and will continue to do so as it evolves into it's OBT in late January of the soon-to-be next year. I've had a lot of good memories in this game, so a question to all of you...

What is/was your best memory from playing PoE's CBT?

For the illiterate: CBT means Closed Beta Test.

Please don't use the acronym CBT, it means something very different O_O
I really enjoyed the first cut-throat league test.

Please don't use the O_O symbol. It offends me greatly.
I must admit to getting a huge LAUGH out of the thread title.

Thanks for the morning laugh.

To all the CBT haters (look under "others" right above "cock and ball torture"):

My best experience in the year I've been in the beta was watching the game evolve from a buggy, non feature complete one act promise to the polished experience it has become now and I look forward to it being the ultimate arpg with continued support and enhancements that will keep it fresh for many years to come.

Best CBT experience, hard to say, I just enjoyed watching the game take shape. There were some big moments, like when they introduced the AI and difficulty changes, before the mobs were 100% retarded, you could reach Merciless with default attack and not putting any points in the tree, and one player running MoC with 7 others there for drops seemed to be the norm. :D

And then suddenly different mobs could do different things, and you had to spec defensively to not get destroyed, and so on.

A lot has changed, but I have to say it has all been for the better. If GGG can keep this up, I'm never leaving. :D

I've been in the closed beta for a while now from a very early stage. The thing I enjoyed the most was seeing the game steadily grow and progress into the great game it is today. I could tell from the start that GGG knew what they were doing and were going to be true to their hardcore audience. I also noticed how every patch/update seemed perfect, like they couldn't of done it better. I'd always look at the new patch notes and think "don't think they could of done it any better" which says a lot. Most games aren't handled so well and in line with what the community wants. Also, the devs play their game which is important. I come from Darkfall, and it's obvious that the company doesnt play their own game (its too hardcore for them :P).

And I've only ever seen CBT used as an acronym for closed beta test. I've been playing betas for 7+ years. You guys and your cock-and-ball-tourture mentality confuse me. CBT has been used for closed beta test many times in the past.

I remember getting my beta key August of last year through the 2 minute lottery. I was soo happy. The game has changed alot. I remember that crappy ui, and the passive skill tree that had the hole in the middle. The game has came along way, and it's only going to get better.
Yeah I got my key the day I signed up from the lottery thing that went every few min. Lucky me.

I'd have just paid $10 later on if I didn't get that.
