Like i say - shitty mechanics.
I rly want to know what was thought process of this skill creator. Its just so bad... lol Im preety sure that this skill wasnt even tested in any other way that 'ok it summons this nice looking beam that is doing nothing - we are done... make microtransactions with replaced color for 5$ (ROTFL) and we can go home". " Indeed, the skill just suffers from there being no useful supports. You can buff the damage figures all you want, but it doesn't help if you can never run searing bond with more than 2 or 3 supports. |

" I haven't actually looked into it, but surely fire penetration would effect it, as fire penetraion should be having an effect, but I do wonder. GGG would have had a build in mind when they made the totem, so there must be a REASON for it. What that is, I don't know, so I am just trying to take a guess. Do we know that the damage being applied doesn't count as a hit? Does that mean that the burning damage being applied can't cause 'burning' the status effect from crits on fire damage? Can it also not crit because of this? I feel this totem is a nice idea (looks wise), probably has some hidden potential, but am really just theory crafting trynig to work out what might work |

" Fire Penetration is an on-hit effect. Searing Bond does not cause hits. It also can't cause crits. It's just a continuous burn, similar to Fire Trap's burning ground ( which also does not benefit from Fire Penetration, only the initial fire explosion ). It also doesn't deal Fire Damage ( contrary to the tooltip ). It deals Burning Damage ( which does not get increased from any Fire Damage, Elemental Damage or Spell Damage nodes, as normal Burning Damage is calculated from the initial hit that does benefit from those modifiers which would make them apply to Burning Damage twice ). The only possible damage increases for Searing Bond come from: - Increased Burning Damage ( talent nodes, support gem and Searing Touch ). - Vulnerability and Flammability curses ( only the reduced resistance from Flammability, no chance to ignite ). - Elemental Equilibrium. - Shock Stacks. You might be able to take Searing Bond quite a way by applying all of those. Dual Searing Bond Totems along with Shock Nova Traps/Mines could be interesting. The only problem is that you won't be a Searing Bond build. You'll be a Shock Nova build as that's where your damage will be coming from for the most part. Has anyone tried out the damage output with the increased burning (and burning passives near templar) to see what sort of damage output it has? If not, when I get home I will just chuck a totem on and go to a level same mob lvl as the totem and try it in my searing touch.
Just curious about potential damage output. Other than that, maybe its setup needs to be changed to be different, perhaps make it like incinerate, very small fire damage very fast, so it can be enhanced effectively? |

It would be cool if you could entangle monsters/ packs with it so they have the beam wrapped around them, moving more slowly.

Maybe the skill designer has some insider information about things to come?
Maybe, just maybe, because he works at GGG he already knew that they are working on making degen damage scaleable like someone from GGG said yesterday/today. “Demons run when a good man goes to war"

Even its true whats the point in releasing shitty skill and then trying make it viable patch after patch?
Make dmg scaleable, then release the skill lol. It doesnt change fact that this skill should be a support for totems not active skill. |
