Half of skills in game sucks and it will not change because GGG dont understand that problem lies in their very badly designed mechanics not pure dmg numbers.

They may 'overhaul' skills ad nauseun and they will still suxx.

But cmon... Searing Bond is more than map viable lol. :)

I still think the fun of searing bond could be awesome, but haven't tried it as I feel it should have an entire build based around it.

I imagine a build with that totem unique, running 3 totems and having the seraing bond 6l would be fun.

But would it be viable.

Has anyone actually TRIED searing bond, seriously tried it, getting the burning dmg nodes and such?

Things like flame trap used to be considered a joke, but when built properly flame trap 6l can just demolish maps very easily. So I feel searing bond is just being dismissed, but teh skill doesn't interest me so I probably won't spend much time on it

I don't know why, but for some reason I thought Searing Bond was a support gem to modify totems.

Somehow it just seems less interesting as a skill.

That'd be quite a cool support.

But I still haven't seen anyone do a searing totem build. And lets face it, the damage based skills are there for being used as a primary for a build.



If theres people who play lightning warp totem builds, surely someone could try building a searing totem and focusing on it (perhaps searing touch it, and otehr burning damage modifiers too)

How exactly would you 6l a Searing Bond totem?

It doesn't cause hits so things like Fire Penetration, Chance to Ignite, Blind, Chance to Flee etc. don't work.
It doesn't fire projectiles so LMP, Fork, Chain etc. don't work.
It doesn't have AoE so Concentrated Effect can't boost it's damage.
It doesn't deal Spell Damage, actually not even Fire Damage, so Iron Will won't work on it (neither will Increased Elemental or Increased Fire Damage, only Increased Burning Damage).

Which leaves the only possible 6l to be:

- Increased Burning Damage
- Minion and Totem Elemental Resist
- Faster Casting ( only applies to summoning the Totem )
- Reduced Mana
- Blood Magic

Which, overall, strikes me as about equally effective to a 3L with only the first two supports.
