Looks like nothing changed :)

Now just alternate skill gems to play around with. Should be fun

Steel skills got a massive rework, i think they MIGHT fit the build now. Just depends on the damage and AOE.

I've been playing lacerate bleed gladiator for the last few leagues, hit Lvl 90 easily but then the wall....

Read the patch notes, played on standard, thinking of shattering steel / impale build, but can't decide slayer, gladiator or chieftain. I haven't played enough to know the pro's and con's of each.

I hate smashing buttons too (70 yrs old), I don't even know benefits of frenzy, endurance, power charges... any info would help.

Thanks

Slayer is mostly about OVERleech (leeching even when you are not hitting anything) and crit scaling AOE.
Gladiator is a master of dualwielding and playing with 1h and a shield. All around good defenses and very fast.
Chieftain is out of question here, he is mostly a fire-based totem guy.
Frenzy gives you more damage multiplier (pure damage). Oure offense.
Endurance gives you physical damage mitigation and all resistance per charge. Very good for squishy characters or those lacking resistances because of too many uniques.
Power Charge just increases crit chance and is mostly assassin stuff or crit spellcasters.

You can try things like Dual Strike, Reave or any reworked Steel Skills in this Impale-set build if you wish.

thanks for quick reply, so I'm torn now between dual wield or sword and board. If I do dual wield, why not grab the Dex to the right of start instead of attack speed/physical damage? Makes the dex problem on some swords less of a problem and on Standard while practicing I didn't see much difference.

gladiator for sword and board, champion for dual wield.

I have some clue what I'm doing, made it to Dominus on SSF Hardcore.
