Question on Zealot's Oath

The wiki hasn't been able to help me here--how does Zealot's Oath apply life regen to ES?
Does it just add on top of whatever else regens ES, making it regen even faster after cooldown, or does it replace it, or what?

With ZO you regenerate ES equal to your health regen.

If you have 1% health regen you constantly regenerate 1% of your ES.

Cool, thanks. :)
And it is independent from your ES recovery. And stacks with it after 6 seconds not taking damage.

You're kind of saying two different things:

I can see the potential for the ES Regen to be 1% of your Max Health, more in keeping with your first statement:

I point it out because there is quite a big difference between the two depending on how you build.

It's the former, 1% of your es is regenerated, as confirmed by Mark?

Well no because I'm not contradicting myself. What ZO (as confirmed by mark) does is plug your ES into the HP regen formula.

So anywhere you see "Health" it would be replaced with "energy shield"

This could mean you regen ES equal to your Health Regen, based off the percentage of your max health not max ES, but applied to ES as a constant rate nevertheless.

Example:

Health = 1000
ES = 500

1% Health Regen for 1000 Health = 10 life per sec

Apply that to ES Regen and you have 10 ES per sec.

The original 500 ES is irrelevant.

Very different from say:

1% of 500 ES = 5 ES per sec

The 1000 life is irrelevant.

I realise now you understand how ZO works, mainly because you make reference to a devs explanation (something I could hardly know at the time), but i'm afraid to say your original statement was not expressed with total clarity.

I don't mean to be rude, I just wanted to be sure that's what you meant because I wanted to fully understand how ZO works myself:)

Well I guess it depends on how you read the mechanics of the game. I didn't see it as unclear because I read the game very literally.

"Regenerate 1% HP" is literally that. 1%, not a value based on your HP but rather a scalar rate. So sorry if I was unclear to you.

Some Clarifications:
Just like Ghost Reaver making the ES leech rate based on max ES instead of max life, % life regen becomes % ES regen, and based on max ES.
Flasks are not regeneration, and not affected.
