Is it impossible to get 4 off-color sockets on an 4S item?

well here it the thing

i love these boots

(note that these are no hybrit boots, they are dex only)

but i need them to be R BBB or at least RR BB
i have no use for any green socket in my 4S gear -.-


i knew that it would be very hard and i feared it might be not possible at all
but well i tried anyway... i used 301 chromatics
i got 3 times 3 off-colors never ever 4

so i wonder if anyone could link an 4 off-color 4S item?
or has made one while usings chromatics or has even seen one...
are there statistics on that???
am I just unlucky or can it simply not be done xD?

It can obviously be done, you just need a little bit of luck :-)

If I understand that correctly, odds for specific off-colour is 10%, so 4soc should be like 0,1% - 0,01% (not wanna calculate it accurately atm :))

wrong. those boots are not hybrid. the unique properties give them ES not the base item.

the base item is pure EV. so it will roll green the most, and because its an 'armor item' red the second most (but still rare) and blue the least.

VERY unlikely though, it was hard enough for me to get 2 green and 2 red on mine for my double strike link.

my attempts so far seem to verify the "10% off color" rule. Keep in mind it "seems" that all sockets are rolled independantly unlike links where chance depends on other links.

having said that, getting 3 off color sockets on a 4 socket item is about as easy as getting 6 sockets linked. have fun with that :)

(same color rules apply when jeweller orbs create sockets, so dont think you can cheat the color system that way!)

RR BB is something you should aim for.

RBBB is really unlikely.

I saw attempts to get 3 green 1 blue socket in a 6 link in CB and it took way over 1000 Chromatics.

yeah been there, it took me about 500 chroma to get BB GGG R on a pure int chest

chromatics work fine if you want to do normal stuff...but it's so hard otherwise :/

if the off colour chance is 10% then the base chance is

0.1 * 0.1 * 0.1 * 0.1 = 0.0001

to get all sockets off-colour. which is really really tiny.

for what you're after (RBBB) there are 4 possibilities given that the R socket can be in 4 different places so your total chance would be 0.0004 or 1/2500.

in the case of RRBB the chances increase, but not by much. the base is still 0.0001 however there are 6 different combinations of two R and two B so total chance is 0.0006 or 1/1667

if either option would be suitable you can add the two probabilities, to get a 0.001 chance. thats 0.1 %
