Stash mess

Well, another league has come and gone, and once more my stash in standard is a complete wreck (well, it's always been a complete wreck after migration due to the lack of tools to organize it).

Acording to this old, locked thread https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2200073/page/1#p15752461 we got the ability to quickly move tabs to the top (far left) of the sort list - which was a delightful QoL change.
They said it was 'a start'... apparently it was also an END because nothing has been done to further improve stash tab managment (such as an option to move to the far right, or by 'pages' up and down (left/right 5 or so tabs)...


Anything, GGG?
It's not like I'm asking for any sort of auto-sort and merge function...

Also, I read in an old league end FAQ that everything went onto read only tabs after migration, what is up with that not happening? and yay, my non premium tab name numbers have swapped around!

When your tabs migrate to STD, they are inserted in the order which they were purchased. Any you have in STD already will not move.
So it can seem somewhat confusing.

I have recommended before (as has Arrowneous) that you take some time and organize your tabs before migration hits so STD isn't a shitstorm.

I did it a few days ago, and I also cleaned up my STD stash to where there are no more remove-only tabs except for what is inbound from Betrayal and those pesky map tabs.

I wager that most of us hoard waaay more crap then we need to during each league.

Howdy! As far as hoarding way more crap then we need, it is definitely easy to do that and I am a hoarder at heart. XD

What happened with me is that my STD tab number one which has always been tab number 1 with my currency items is now tab number 3, and tab number 2 is now tab number 5, etc. Order was correct before migration. It doesn't sound like a big deal but when it is a tab completely full of single slot items, it makes it really not fun to move all that around.

All special tabs (Currency, maps, fragments, etc) need to be automerged.

But, since it happens every 3-4 months - I wouldn't expect fix for that any soon ))

I am also wondering why I didn't get the read only stash tabs. :( I was expecting this after having read that was how things worked in the past. I still am more annoyed at my tabs getting re-numbered. Makes me worry that I lost items or currency in the migration.

You get "Remove Only" stash tabs in the parent-league of the corresponding Betrayal League.



Mine seem to have transferred across fine, so I have no idea what might have gone wrong in your case. You should check the stash of all 4 variants of league (ie. Standard, HC, SSF, HC-SSF) to see if your stash was merged into a different parent league than you expected.

GGG have to give you "Remove Only" tabs because it's the simplest solution to the problem. Otherwise, if they tried to dump your Betrayal stash into open spaces in your regular stash, there would be many instances where there just simply isn't enough space in the regular stash to transfer all the items over in which case not everything *could* be transferred, and how would you (or GGG) decide what items to prioritize in that case?

I understand why they do the remove only tabs after a new league. I guess the lesson to learn is to create a character in standard if you don't already have one and fill the stash up so you get those remove only tabs when a new league is created. Boooooo.

I'm not sure what you mean about renumbering.

I've had tabs migrated from both regular and SSF versions of the league. In both cases, the existing "Standard" four tabs retained their original label number and contents. The ones migrated from Betrayal were inserted in numerical order.

In the image I posted you can see this: tabs 1, 2, 3 and 4 are my original tabs and the one called "1(Remove Only)" was migrated from Betrayal. In another Standard sub-league, I have four tabs migrated from Betrayal, so the order was:

1, 1(Remove Only), 2, 2(Remove Only), 3, 3(Remove Only), 4, 4(Remove Only)

Basically the sequence defaults to numerical order, and always goes Regular followed by Migrated (if one exists). Items you have on specific tabs will remain on those specific tabs, and their position within the tabs does not change. All that changes is the insertion of the additional tabs, and the ordering of the tabs themselves.

If the order of the tabs bothers you (for example, I prefer to keep Remove Only tabs all the way to the far right, so the first four are my regulars) you can simply click the heading of any tab and drag it's position around, and totally reorder the tabs as you see fit.

I presume that if you still have Remove Only tabs on an account when a subsequent migration occurs, the migrated tabs are renamed and appended to the right of the existing ones - so if you have 4 Remove Only tabs, the first migrated tab of the following league would be called "5(Remove Only)" and appear to the right of all the existing ones.

Pretty much given up on ever playing in Standard again. It was a liberating choice.
