[3.13] ESSENCE DRAIN / BANE / SOULREND Occultist / Trickster Build. STARTER & UBER Elder Carry!

The reason for this is that DoT is easier to scale than a chaos hit. You need to invest into one heavily, and Soulrend gives a mix between the too, so you have to choose what to do, and since DoT is so powerful here, yet lasts half a second, it's still prevailing over the hit by a huge margin. Another reason is terrible cast speed and high mana cost on a 6l. Needs totally different setup to give decent leech and crit to surpass dot damage.

The new league (Legion) seems like something where soulrend will shine once again.. it's surely one easy way to break all monsters and kill them all before monolith time runs out!

We've decided that Winter Orb, Storm Brand, Bane and Soulrend were too powerful for clearing through content without heavy investment, so the damage and other aspects have been reduced in power.

They didn't last more than one League ...
I know it will not be the end of their uses, but I really pity all the money people spent on getting celestial Cat Soulrend for it to get nerfed just in three months....

They didn't mention ED + Contagion though, so at least this still on top tier builds nonetheless!

Yeah, i am honestly surprised with both the Bane and Sourlend nerfs. Just popular skills because they were fresh, but STRONG? Absolutely not.
This build however is still mostly an ED+CONTAGION build, with Soulrend just being an option. Bane would still be here for sure, nerfs or not.

Honestly, Bane/SR needed the nerf IMO. Farming was way too easy and also ridiculously strong bosser for the safety you get. Even with a ~25% nerf it would still be very strong.

Was considering Occ ED for 3.7 as an SSF starter. Will the survivability nerf to Occultist be an issue, or will it just be less OP?

Less op, but i checked the tree changes and there's a JUICY node packed with ES nearby, so not sure it's too bad for now. Wicked Ward is harder to reach though.

No. Trickster was fucked really hard. literally 50% less on everything. Will be permastunned harder
