Soul Rend vs Essence Drain

ok well im not sure why you put "fire one arrow and then run twenty screens ahead while dense packs just die in sequence" because i never said that.

anyway you can't do that with ED/contagion either. not without casting, which is the same as just attacking. CA clears faster even if you need to attack every pack. it is literally one attack each pack and run inbetween
so ya, if you do decide to throw in mirage archer on top then its even better

and outside of clear speed, again CA is significantly more damage than ED now which allows for respective bossing dps and killing things faster always equals being safer.

running on a 6L bow also frees up the ability to use kaom's heart if you're life based, for a great hp pool to survive off of.

with the pretty heavy nerfs to shield charge alone ED took a huge hit to clear speed.

Contagion doesnt spread Soulrend (that we're aware of), no snowball effect. ED has shit damage, you have to use ED + Wither + Blight to kill anything and still takes forever. Caustic Arrow for example has better damage. Damage for Soulrend still unknown.

Looking at ZiggyD's video, one cast of Soulrend + GMP leaves several mobs alive every pack. He's casting 2 times to clear one pack.

My ED does tremendous damage. I can almost kill bosses with a single cast if it. I don't understand why this would change at endgame

10k DPS in act 7 is nothing special.

When you say you can kill bosses with a single cast, how long is this and with what items? You can beat Cruel Izaro in a couple of seconds if you have a 4 link.
