There is totally no reason to put resources into this instead of new content or QA.
Sorry guys, better to have game without bugs, than with female templar without pants.

You're aware that artists, modellers, riggers, and animators aren't the same people that do QA and bugfixing, right?

Right?

No, but those people could be working on models for new end game content instead reworking existing character models that would be totally irrelevant under 16 levels of comestics brighter than a pulsar.

I can barely tell if my ranger is humanoid much less male or female. Character models are much like water effects, really nice during the few hours of slow paced act content where you notice it and then totally irrelevant after yet you want GGG to spend hundreds of developer hours on not just updated models but female/male variants.

^I'm pretty sure you identify as an "elemental wisp".

Not everyone has 16 layers of MTX. I for one would love updated models shrug.

Anyways, monsters and stuff die off screen and get covered with aoe and your MTX where u can't see them anyways, so why bother making new models for them too right?

Maybe those new models will be nice enough where you CAN tell if ur ranger is male or female?

I can argue the opposite. They could be working on new updated models and animations that are going to be the very thing the player sees the most for 90% of the time they're playing the game. I'm sure that would still be as worthwhile as making new animations and designs for a monster that gets deleted from off screen in less than a second.

While I don't expect new characters as options for choosing a class, they really do need to update the current characters at some point.
do they really need to though?
does every single game need to include both genders for all roles? should we expand that to different body types and sexual preferences and change all audio options to include preferred pronouns as well, or something.

personally i think its ridiculous to be concerned about what a game makes available for you. you either accept it and play it, or don't and don't. petitioning for things to be changed is....entitled i guess.

has a marauder only being able to be male ever stopped you from playing marauder? how bout a witch? have you never played a witch, scion, ranger, because you don't want to play as a female?

i know people are different, so people probably do value these insignificant things more than i do....but all i can do is speak from my experience and point of view.
that being its insignificant.

lets get the lizard people in here petitioning for lizard people models too. lol

I mean I've been playing Argonians since Daggerfall...

Variety is fun.
What's more likely for a game that funds itself entirely on cosmetic content that has no gameplay relevance? Spending the effort to redesign character models and add more options in an attempt to draw in more players who care about how their character looks? Or spending that same effort on designing more end game art content that the vast majority of the playerbase never sees?

Would not surprise me at all to see them add gender options, especially if they are doing the smart thing during their model upgrades to make armor scaling a trivial if not automatic system.
They pump similar mtx with slight color variation for 20€ and you expect them to change characters? It will be buy only versions, called it first.
I dislike rarity so much im almost quitting poe2. GGG.
There were screenshots way back that seemed to indicate GGG is certainly updating all character models in 4.0. No special gender options though.
