4.0 New Character Models / Male-Female Variations Question

So I'm really new to Path of Exile and the biggest issue I have (besides the complicated building) is that I want to play as a Witch but have trouble role playing as a female. Now before everyone goes and complains about that last statement, I see role playing as a way to imagine yourself as the character you're playing with. Like imagining myself as a Necromancer. Being a guy means I just don't know how to imagine myself as a female. Now I see nothing wrong with that but some do. It's a small thing I know but breaks the immersion for me. Just feels weird is all.



Anyway, I heard that in 4.0 they will be releasing new character models and that there will be a female marauder or something along those lines. So my question is, does 4.0 having New Character Models mean we will be getting male and female variations of different classes? So something like a male Witch?

I'm pretty sure when there will be a male and female char for each class finally we will get the "I identify myself as an attack helicopter" ppl's tears.

I'm tired of having many great mtx that works well for witch/scion but looks terrible on males.

You heard wrong. We've gotten hints of a character model overhaul, but absolutely nowhere ever have they indicated a willingness to do either gender for any class.

First off, it doesn't even fit the lore--ignoring how a "male witch" is colloquially contradictory, we already know that even once female Karui stopped being housemaids and started being warriors, they became rangers (hyrri), not Marauders.

Second, it requires double the lines of voice acting. GGG has been hard-pressed up to now to even keep up voiced lines in 3.0 (character reactions end before act 5). We're all looking forward to finally having properly voiced characters again in 4.0, but no one--literally no one--thinks that at the same time, they'll be willing to double the number of lines necessary by making every class able to be either gender.

So yeah, give up on this dream. Even with Tencent money, GGG isn't operating on a Blizzard-like budget.

You have a very sad imagination.
You need to step outside (or maybe inside) the box.

I can go either way on this but I dont think it should be a priority


In some ways I think it detracts from the characters

like when im playing a marauder I am THE marauder

once you add different sexes then im just playing a marauder

but in other ways I really have a hard time arguing that greater customization is a bad thing

How would folks feel if new character models were a paid feature? It is purely visual after all and would require a great deal of time and effort for GGG to create

I want all broads so yea I hope we get the option.
