Map drop in SSF
I'm lvl 92, atlas state like starting to achieve atlas bonuses of red maps. Killed yellow Elder 2 times yet. Currently I have a situation in which literaly I have no maps for like 90% of distinguished maps (shaper orb, stronghold, Nicko, Alva, Einar, missing atlas bonus of lower tier map, shaper influence near elder to spread, needed pantheon god etc.). And after playing like close 4-5 other maps the situation is the same. Zana doesn't sell any of those maps either. This is a joke.
Please fix the map drop system/buying from Zana in SSF. Or allow easier map exchange like more orbs of horizon, allow to select particular alternate map for e.g. 3 chaos orbs (1 is a random of same tier as we know). Also fix divines, exalts, annulment drop in SSF. I literally had no EX dropped yet. Also have second character lvl 71 now. NO EX DROPPED even when playing easily on lower red tiers. GGG, knock, knock. Do you remember that in SSF you cannot exchange currency to buy those rarest currency? Dernier bump le 31 déc. 2018 à 21:17:54

I play SSF exclusively since incursion and drops seem fine to me. If you want it easy go play practice leagues like betrayl or standard. I personally like that it takes longer to do anything because I dont get bored so fast. It's the struggle to get OP that's fun not being OP - Everyone knows this intuitively or we'd just stay in standard with our OP legacy shit and faceroll.

Map drops are fine. You have to have a very good understanding of mapping in POE to do it in SSF. Pushing influence is tough in ssf sometimes, but there is a method to making sure you keep 2-3 of every map you run (never try and run dry) so you can push influence properly. I've killed red elder like 15 times this league and now am working on spawning uber elder. Dernière édition par Prizy#1622, le 31 déc. 2018 à 17:09:57

" This is my first league running SSF HC. Can you please explain more about how to go about mapping? Or direct me to a guide? I'm not sure what the best strategy is. |

Hi there. I moved to SSF this league first time ever and have to tell you maps drop is fine. We need to keep in mind that SSF is self-challenge for people who bored in trade league (for any reason) and game should not be balanced around SSF (because it is self-challenge we voluntarily do for ourselves).
SSF requires way more time to play to achieve comparable results to trading league. If you don't have enough time - partial SSF self-challenge in trading league is always an option. retired from forum because of censorship and discrimination

Ill give my 2 cents, even though Im not SSF for this league or HC
I never buy maps out of principle, so I fill out atlas only with what drops/zana sells. up until this league I refused to use harbinger or horizon orbs as well. I think karv should have a great guide although it might be slightly outdated. Anyway, my tips on progressing through atlas 1. 3 to 1 recipe is vital. starting from this expansion if a map connects to two higher tier maps, 3 to 1 can work on both ! 2. dont be afraid to chisel early. in ssf chisels arent as important as moving up in maps. pick up those stone hammers. 3. at least in this league, there are a ton of cities in delve once you're in 150ish range. maps drop a lot in cities. make sure your build can handle delve and push as much as you can to get to cities. farm sulphite scarabs 4. same for carto scarabs 5. corrupt maps ideally only if you have two of each. yes you can go back at some point when you can get a drop but it will be a PITA if master mission or elder stuff lands on it and you dont have one 6. zana dailies are super important to refresh stock. its RNG but your first prerogative should be to try to get map she's on. 7. buy out most of zana's stock 8. make sure to get bonus when you have multiple maps. vaal orbs will be important. 9. dont take zana's map quest rewards until you need them. 10. once youre high level, new breachstones will drop tons of maps. this is more of endgame stuff, but if you cant get t15s and t16s those help a ton. so does delve. so does high level temple with the carto room. 11. I dislike harbinger/horizon orb but you dont have to. farming harbinger orbs/harbingers is a big help. you can get them from syndicates and wild zana 12. zana mod - I dont really recommend as in ssfhc you dont want to waste chaos sometimes, but its a possibility 13. wild zana- always try to run maps that arent completed (duh) that you can do (duh), if not applicable focus on harbingers and breach as rewards. harbingers because horizon/harbinger orbs, breach because breachstones. if theres a unique map, do the unique map. 14. dont shape anything until youre done completing maps in that tier. theres more but thats off top for now |

for all the ssf fans they are some easy tricks to make your masters spawn on low(er) tier maps, which are much easiert to obtain if you keep picking up all maps that drop.
the "dayly master reset" spawn around the same tier as the last map you ran before the reset. sure having them in higher tiers especialy zana is nice, ist a risk. so if you run a lower map tier where you have plenty of maps to spare you avoid the "oh i dont have that map" problem. ofc even on lower tier you are sometimes unlucky and cant drop 1 specific map (hell i only got 1 acadamy map the whole league i think and have nearly all maps up to t11 unlocked, maps are SSF for me since i dont trade for them at all) often you can "fix" that 1 map with the 3 for 1 recipe and on lwoer tiers it dont really hurt much. btw if you have a build that can deal with nearly if not all mapmodes, using zanas 1c option to reroll to a rare map of the same tier can be a lot more valueable than simply using the chaos on the map itself. I don't know why but hardest hump is the T9-11 range to fill in. Rest are easy (with zana and alcing W & Y and 3 to 1 recipe) and once you get to reds you vaal every map to get completion bonus so maps kick in big time.
But last season I was sustaining T16s and went to 98.5 before I had enough. Anyway my advice 1. Do every uncomplete map you have 2. Try and do them on shaper/elder influences 3. Shape up Vaal Pyramid Map for vaal orbs. Every red map should be vaaled. You needs lots vaals. 4. Start running sextants on good T13's and above make sure you have 3 maps and elder/shaper influnces. Also helps if you play a build that can run every map. I like BV. Can run 100% elemental or 100% physical with gem swap. This way you dont waste maps vaaling..trappers and other stuff works too. " That's very helpful. Thanks. Pardon my ignorance, but I don't know what you mean by 9. Can you please elaborate? |

" you get a map of each tier from zana when you progress in her quest line. the reward is 1 map of the tier and you can choose which one. so when you are unlocking atlas you safe that reward until you either have only 1 map of that tier left to unlock or if you already got all maps in that tier unlocked you should safe it until you need 1 map you dont have for master quest,elder/shaper or some other good reason. its like a backup map tat you only use when you really need it. |
