Leagues end loss.

I am new to PoE, starting about 2-3 months ago, starting in beast league with friends.
Being new, Seasons end losing of all rep and map progress is devastating. I've been told via forums that "it will be fixed when the game goes down for maint." Meanwhile the next week or two I have no reps or hideout.
For those who didn't start this league, they have something to fall back on, I understand its "not a big deal". I do not. I've lost all my progression, 3 months, its everything, even prophecy lady. I'm not starting over. I'm not the only person surprised by this, or feeling screwed.

This is a Horrible business model. This kind of loss puts people off. Even if it is temporary, Boop you just can't access a quarter of your game(Hideout is endgame, right?). IF YOU Do work on getting it back you're still screwed with lvl 1 crafters? Not acceptable. If you know it glitches out EVERY SEASON (So I've been told) Then why aren't the servers dropped the day of Season end to fix this. O.O wtf

Hideout is not endgame. Hideout is practically when you start playing the real game.

This isn't a glitch. This is part of what a season is supposed to be. And you don't even actually lose that progress. Go play in Standard if you don't want to have things reset every three months. Progress there is permanent.
Furthermore, the Trade Manifesto delenda est.

Bone Mommy did nothing wrong. I want to join the Syndicate.

This should probably be communicated by the game better.

Leagues (you started playing at beastiary league) are temporary. All your progress there other than the characters and stash tabs is removed at the end of the league. The characters and stash tabs are moved to the permanent league "Standard".

There are players who consistently play in the permanent leagues and have some progress there (maxed out masters, atlas, hideout). They can participate in leagues and events, and fall back on their progress in the permanent league once the league is over. They can also ignore the league alltogether and just continue playing the permanent league.

Also, there are players who only play temporary leagues and see the permanent league as a graveyard of some kind. Those start every new league from scratch and when a league ends, they lose their progress. Then, they just wait out a couple of days until the new league starts and play the new league again with their progress fully reset.

Relax. You're being overdramatic with that “week or two”. You know the next downtime is in just a couple days.

Its not a big loss: you can still run maps from the map device in the Templar's lab instead of your own. Yes there's no kind of Zana bonus/reward, no Master daily/progress and no crafting;

but its only a couple of days: maximum until friday with the next league's patch,

and its only once: it will never hurt you that much if you already own a hideout in standard (because then it's just the migration of reputation/favour that's affect you temporary).

And its not just laziness, the technical background is that hideout and masters are different to characters and stash: these both just are moved into permanent, while hideout and masters have to migrate with existing ones, which needs server time (downtime) that was decided to not spend until needed needed anyways. It could probably be done if a check founds no permanent hideout (no migration needed), but I cant guess about such effort and possible risks, nor about a percentage of affected people. (while it's indeed impressive how many of this reports occur after each finished league)

Remember, I'm New to the Game. Only played in this league, had Nothing in standard to fall back on.

Beast league was my introduction, a friend said hop in league it has rewards, then drops it into standard league later anyway. Leagues done, I don't have crafting tables anymore, that's end game. Everything is in the hideout, crafting your gear so you can progress, right?

My Perspective.
All of my reputations, I've worked on for the last 3 months, are Gone. "only 5 days" I didn't know if that would get fixed till I received a reply in the bugs forum.

I would ask you to login, Play for 5 days with out any crafting table access or lvl 1 crap access. Am I over reacting?

I'm trying to tell GGG How to fix this before it costs them the new players. You are new, playing in league Not knowing anything about POE, league ended and all that rep based craft disappeared in standard. Are you going to log back in to play? Grind days and days for that rep? ^&*( No. Bad for business. I've been playing other games because I wont play without crafting tables, or start over with nothing.

Jumping into a New league is a decision, mindset, start fresh yey! :D
Ending league after months, having No rep to show? I feel screwed over. I feel angry that I wasted 3 months. EVEN if it is only "5 days" If the rep didn't show back up I'd be 6 months behind. 3 months played and 3 months lost getting that rep back and not farther ahead. Angry and playing else where drawing friends with. Instead I'm here telling GGG, and defending my aggravation.

GGG this shouldn't be a thing. Hopefully you see this and agree. May not be a simple fix but needs to be fixed so it isn't a thing.

I think you just need to talk to one of the masters in town and ask him to create a hideout. Then add all the crafting benches to the HO.

I guess if you've never had a HO in standard when a league ends, then it doesn't automatically create on. Never mind, your master reputation should be saved, so just repeat the creation process. Ensure you use the master with highest level to create the new HO.

Hope that helps and have fun and good drops!

What you are asking is that GGG turns off the game for several hours for 100% of the players so that 5% (or whatever percent of new players who started in the league) don't have the inconvenience of waiting a few days for some of their progress to be merged into standard. Don't forget that most players play leagues so after those few days those same players will not be continuing to play in Standard but be starting new characters and playing in the league a few days later. As Mr. Spock would say, “the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few”.

This advice doesn't help if the masters in standard at at zero xp. They won't even show up in town.

Normally at league merge, the masters all have the higher of the two xp values from league and std. So I assume they'll have the xp values from league, else all new players would have noticed this error.

If not: GGG staff is very helpful, emailing them should clear things up quickly.
