Oni-Goroshi in Current League - are You gonna farm it or drop it?

I ran two characters and only when I reached lvl8 on both I found my first Charan sword...on only one.
The second one frankly I gave it up.

Let's face the truth.
Before latest patch you were supposingly able to drop Oni-Goroshi at level 7, and I found it at level 8 and 15%.
With this new patch they "made the sword more rare to drop but able to drop at levels lower than 7".
But if you couldn't find it before below level 7 I doubt now you will be able to: it doesn't make much sense if the rarity to drop below lvl7 is the same as of a mirror of kalandra.

TLDR: You will not find the sword until you're ATLEAST level 8.

Yes you can get it before 8, this is a fact, not supposition.
I had UH spawn in a private league last month at 7.5.
And, of the three I have farmed, only 1 was found post 7.

I don't what's the average time but this was my first time. 4 Scion rotation.

A few pages back is proof someone found it at level 5. Fairly sure some of the more obsessive sword hunters have found it at 6 and 7 too.

I can confirm that the UH (and the sword) can indeed spawn before your character is level 8.

I got the sword I have in this league after about 75 runs, or about level 7.25.

(I'm still occasionally doing runs with my other two characters, but they're both over level 8 by now).

working on my 4th now, past 2 dropped just before the 1st pip of exp lvl 7, the 3rd dropped about the 3rd/4th pip into lvl 7

So what's the ghist behind the grind? Is it just RNG or is there a level threshold i have to reach before i have a chance of it to drop?

The gist of it is this:

Grind until Uber Hillock spawns, most of the time it will be 7+.

While 7+ hours is correct, he most likely meant post level seven. You used to be required to be at least level seven for it to spawn, but they lowered the spawn rate by a shitload and made him able to spawn regardless of your level.

Okay, so there's now no min or max level for the grind yes?
