I went Ranger - found him at level 6. He wasn't much of a problem. When he jumps and spawns the adds, you can simply run away and kill off the adds separately and then reengage. A fun fight.

Note - if you go Ranger, you'll need movement speed boots for the fight so that you can outpace the zombies (they're pretty fast). Just save your alts/augs/scrolls for boots until you craft/find a pair.

Got 3+ hours on 4 characters, still not uber.

3 Chars, 7 hours, nothing so far :/. Are odds better/worse or the same after hitting level 8?

Chris said it was pretty random now on reddit. I don't think shooting anything other than hillock is worth it.

3 chars, 8+ hours. NOTHING

I spent over 8 hours over 4 toons in Abyss.
My second drop a few days ago was a total of 11.5 hours.
Keep grinding exiles.

Total time spent across 4 chars: ~12 hours.

And looks like they increased refresh time :(

Can someone explain to me how to farm this? From what I gather I have to get a few characters to level 7 and then kill hillock a bunch? Are there any stipulations to this? Do I have to stay in the strand? Can I go out, level to 7 and keep resetting the instance or does it need to refresh on its own? How does this work exactly?

Stay on the beach at all times, do not enter the gate, just kill everything then log off, needs about 90 sec. to reset the instance, in the meanwhile run it with another character, sword starts dropping when you reach lvl 7, provided, you encounter uber Hillock.
