How long does it take to farm 100 exalted orbs?

I've played over 700 and got my first two this week if that tells you anything...

Ive gotten maybe 10 exalt drops in 1500 hours played according to steam so 100 exalts will take approx 15,000 hours /played or 625 days played. So if you play for 3 hours every day you will get 100 exalted orbs in around 13.6986 years from now.

I've played since closed beta and I have had a total of 3 exalts drop.

No joke.

That's just flat out wrong. You can throw together a crazy good build for next to nothing if you do it early enough. 20ex rings go for chaos. Actually most rares are dirt cheap the first weekend of a league and you can usually farm up enough currency to grab them. It isn't till about 2 weeks till things start really climbing.

If you don't get in on a league right away, you'll be grinding for ever for anything good. On the plus side all the chase uniques will be dirt cheap.

Making currency early in a league is very much based on how fast you can level and farm the things others can't farm yet. Be it uber lab, atziri, uber atziri or shaper/elder etc. If you can get there quick enough you can farm andbuild up a fortune real quick.

Another approach is keeping an eye out for meta-build items and price your sales correctly. This requires high knowledge about the most popular early league builds and preparation before a league starts to know what will be the most wanted items. buy low sell high etc

Third approach is just sitting in hideout flipping currenc for some weeks. This is the most boring approach but might give you the 100 ex you wanted real quick.

fourth approach could be getting your guild together to boost your masters to 7+ super quick and sell master craft services + browsing market for incomplete items that people think sucks, do the high master craft and put item back out for sale for 10x the price(very often more). This requires massive knowledge about prefixes, suffixes, stat brackets and builds so you know what will sell and what won't. If you lack this knowledge you migh lose currency instead of making it.

Fifth is the approach the majority of the players do. Eternal grinding and hope for a big money drop so you can upgrade to next item you need xd. This is highly ineffective but also the least boring as you generally play the game the way you want to on the path to "success". Some get lucky drops some don't. blessRNG

Truth right here. I'm betting OP heard that 100 exa bullshit on some.. special.. sites.. that.. help users.. Randomly Making Tickles.

If you need 100ex for a decent build, I quit the game right now. My time is better spend doing otehr stuff.

A more realistic take is most decent builds can be started with less than 100c (full set of gears enough for mapping), & improve with about 10-XXXEx as you level, map. The high cost piece is usually 6-link weapon or chest which will set you back about 6-20Ex, but you can start with a 5 price one that is 1/5 or less of the cost of 6 link.


Most good build guilds have starter budget gears for palyers to use while farming for the end game gears.

100 ex for most geared builds lul, stop looking at RMT sites. If you want to do all contents this league:

Budget build: burning spectre summoners
Insane 1 shot build: glacial miner

If you want to hoard currency and learn the game a bit, 30c gear for juggernaut and farm lab like no tomorrow. 1 week in lab and you will have somewhere closed to 50ex (or you could get 50 ex in 1 day lab with lucky enchants)

Plenty of ways to reach this amount of exalt in no time but you need a strategy.

- Level 8 master service
- Uber lab ( specialy in early league, require to know a bit what are the actual popular builds and piece of gears / enchants that come with example in last league: Enchanting kaom's root with damage penetrate 10% res was giving a very nice return )
- Selling high level maps in early leagues, selling shaper / elder items good item bases
- Running a boss service ( Uber lab / Uber atziri / shaper and so on )
- A good clearspeed build and understanding how sextants work

It's just some example of what you can do but i wouldn't even try to "farm" 100 exalt it's just a waste of time and probably the best way to be pissed off with PoE. Also playing economy has nothing wrong and with the above methods you are going to meet a lot of great players :)

Flipping is an option, a profitable one i agree but i wouldn't recommend to do that you will just end to uninstall PoE after few months, bored of it.
