XP Gain and reaching Lvl 100
So I really started to wonder about all those complaints about XP gain and reaching Lvl 100. I had the feeling, that a lot of people complained who dont even go for Lvl 100 or maybe not even get past LvL 90. So i went over to the Standard Ladder for Harbinger and i was very suprised by the huge amount of Lvl 100 charackters this league.
I personally started to play actively around awakening. Max lvl i reached until now with 4 characters is 90 and I am fine with that (others 86+). So back in those times reaching lvl 100 was more of a thing. And if we go back for even 2 more years than it gets quite rare. So what i did is - i chose random leagues and checked the amount of Lvl 100 characters on the standard (!) ladder. As we all know the number of players playing POE changed, some leagues were very popular some werent. But what is quite clear is, that it must have been harder to reach Lvl 100 at those times than it is today (at least thats my interpretation). What do you guys think? People are fucking clueless.
Nugi is entirely correct and on point in the chat with ziz, people just easily forget the past.
chat if your interested
From 13 lvl 100's in a league to 1380. R.I.P. prestige for reaching lvl 100 or achieving a high level. And then we have people like Ziz complaining GGG doesn't actively promote the lvl 100 push and stuff. Obviously they don't, for them it's a stain on their original design intent and a sour path they've taken. I remember the very first lvl 100, Chriss made a news post personally congratulating the team and the player who made it, the actual hitting of lvl 100 was streamed and watched by perhaps 90% of the community at the time. That was a "fuck yeah reaching lvl 100 event". Now it's irrelevant. Inb4 people telling me i don't have a lvl 100 and completely missing the point of this post. " DUDE WTH YOU DO NOT EVEN HAVE LVL 100 WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LIVING IN IMAGINERY UNICORN LAND OF PINK RAINBOWS but some people should tell you,you will not have any level 100 in future if this is going to be the"thing" where we get 100%exp nerf every league. :^) And OP point is not valid, because last 2 leagues had Harbinger map where any decent character does not die (easy 100 and previous one was even worse, where you could roll sh* ton of map mods mostly breaches for exp This league may not have any of that I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty, I feel pretty, and witty and gay, And I pity Any girl who isn’t me today! " I would want lvl 80 to 100 to get a 500% more xp increase overall. Because i'm a normal player, for me it's irrelevant since i'm not delusional about reaching it if i don't put in the effort and time. If i wanna reach it, i'll do it and work towards it, irrelevant of time investment required. But for people that already do it today, it's a hollow achievement when compared to the past. There is no prestige in lvl 100 in todays game-state, it's just a bit of no-lifing and a good resistance against repetition and boredom. I see a lvl 100 in-game today and i don't go "what a fucking maniac" like i would have in the past, i just shrug and move on. " Nugi is totally wrong! It is just a GAME. Game = enjoyment overwise it will be frustration. Frustration = no players -> no money for GGG |

Harbinger had free T15 maps with plenty to kill on them... and you could get them early and often. If you were able to trade for them, or for the orbs to make them, you had it about as easy going as you ever will.

" I dont see where i am wrong tho. I just said it was harder to reach lvl 100. There are many reasons for that and an important one for the current league you just mentioned - Beachhead. When it comes to legacy and having breach - leaguestones it doesnt really explain the glut of Lvl 100 characters. Just compare the numbers with the Breach League for that matter. I strongly encourage you to not simplify when it comes to the root of this glut. I think one reason can be identified when looking at the timeline = Introduction of the Atlas / Shaping / Fixing etc. " Why is that? So what numbers do you expect in comparison? I feel like it will be the same +/- " But only Beachhead alone will not explain a 1000% increase in Lvl 100's compared to Torment right? Dernière édition par Im2sl0w#6409, le 6 déc. 2017 à 09:38:07

" Your point is circular and holds little to no value. Game = enjoyment otherwise it will be frustration => reaching level 100 is your only "enjoyment" in path of exile? So what happens to the money for GGG once you reach lvl 100 and all of the "enjoyment" is gone? The game offers plenty of things to take enjoyment from beyond the one option of "reaching lvl 100". I've never done the 100 push and get constant enjoyment from playing path of exile, there is absolutely no frustration for me in "not reaching lvl 100". And if reaching lvl 100 is your goal you decided for yourself to achieve, then do it, irrelevant of time/xp required to achieve it. Prove to yourself you can get it, if that fulfills you. Don't drag the entire "reaching lvl 100" achievement down just because you want it to be easily achievable within your limits. tl;dr be realistic in what you can achieve within PoE and take enjoyment from setting realistic goals within the boundaries of PoE, don't force boundaries other people enjoy down. This won't end well, since obviously there is a big disconnection between people who are realistic with what they can achieve within their play-time and what they actually desire due to the prominence of streamers enforcing un-achievable standards on them. Alot of the prestige is lost when the achievement is easy but tedious, no? Right now it just seems like from nugi's point of view whoever can live through the boredom of doing the same map efficiently over and over gets a so called "prestigious" achievement.

Frustration is vital to a game being enjoyable. Overcoming frustration is what makes it fun.
