GGG are you F'ckin kidding with Breaches?

So I'm cruising through most maps/bosses and leveling up nicely with my Harbinger SSF build. Most bosses are quickly dispatched and a few are more work/time to defeat and everything is good. Then in a level 8 Pier map I encounter a Breach. First thing I notice is that it didn't lag me the hell out of playing the map like this did: Breaches are killing the frame rate. Ok, so far so good so I activate the breach and wham! As the breach expands it gets so full of purple mobs that my frame rate drops so I back way outside the breach to be safe. Next second and I'm dead from some kind of f'in server/client lag where either the server is not knowing my new position or my client isn't getting the mob positions fast enough so what I see is behind where the server simulation is processing so I don't know the mobs are closer to the exile (because I can't see the danger). Whatever the reason I don't know but all this overload shit does is make me never want to run a Breach ever again. Way unbalanced content compared to the rest of the mobs and bosses for my exile level. I'm level 84 with 4.8K health and 1.5K mana using MoM and everything else is not a one-shot death trap (these kinds of content spikes suck to the max).



As always the "git gud" or "you just need double the HP" trolls need not replay.

Actually, if you run out of the breach the mobs follow you and outside of the breach they are invisible and can still do damage to you. If you run from an active breach, keep running until the breach is closed. ;)

how are you level 84 without even a 5link..
come on vorci does it for a reasonable price that can be farmed from lower tier maps quickly.

It seems your character is not set up to deal with the amazing spawn rate of breaches
if you know you are weak, as you should , than open them and run away to only deal with a small portion of them at one angle.

The game gives you many methods to get 4link and 5 link items. use them .

also, don't suggest something is unbalanced when you decide to play ssf.

most likely MoM killed you - you have no mana sustain whatsoever, so you ran OOM, your flame dash stopped working and you got zerged..

as for the lag: POE is a very rough game, we all know it and thats why some content should be simply avoided if one experiences severe problems. breaches do not concern me, but i cannot run Ivory Temple map because i get flickering gfx artifacts since 3.0. it is pretty sad state of things but it is what it is: game in dire need of polishing

This is one of the main reasons why I don't get why Breach is/was so popular. It's just a buttonmashfest and the difficulty later on becomes stupidly disproportionate compared to the rest of the game, with nearly no relevant reward - the drop rates of splinters are just laughable and there are many safer ways to get tons of rare items.

In my opinion, either finally fix Breach with a more reasonable difficulty scaling and an actually worthwhile drop rate, or just get rid of it and put in one of the leagues that had more complexity than "step into circle and mash buttons for 20 seconds lol" as permanent features instead, e.g. Talisman or Perandus.

seems like you didnt read why we were telling him to fix his builds. they are beyond bad. no direction and he is not taking any advantage of game mechanics to get better gear.

his character is not suited to do the content. breaches are not bad if you have the appropiate defences.
this is some form of life/mana sustain and some form of damage mitigation.

you should have 4k life for white, 5k for yellow and 6k+ for reds.
using mom will only get you killed with no mana.

Not all people (of any gender) are seeking advice when they complain. In this case, the OP made it rather explicit that that wasn't being sought by the very last line of the post.

Also, it seems to me that the OP's death was only secondarily about the difficulty spike, and primarily about performance issues.

I personally think Breaches are garbage content, for the same reason I think ALL dps checks in this game are garbage content, but I always run them since I'm one of the lucky ones who don't get lagged out by them.
