Hall of Grandmasters is very deceptive and lost alot of xp from it!

Those cullers there are just annoying. But i guess it should be that way.
This map really shouldn't be on the Atlas. It's PvP. PvP is a completely different game. It's nothing like the rest of PoE. Anybody who wants to PvP can always go to the Arena. If that's not enough, GGG could make Leo sell access to this area for some adequate price or w/e. But what this thing is doing on the Atlas, together with, you know, MAPS, is beyond me.

I understand that GGG can't just discard this thing. People paid a whole lot of money to have their own personal copy of mull_gubben on display for everybody to laugh at. But still, it doesn't belong on the Atlas, let alone in Tier 9.

First things first: PoE is a game of knowledge. If you didn't know what Hall of the GrandMasters is, the fault is with you, not GGG. The info is out there. Why did you run a unique map without checking what it is on poewiki and youtube first?

Also, if you wanna run the map, cheese it with secondary damage like degens and traps.

WHile its true its my fault for not checking the wiki, but when litterally the rest of the atlas is one way and this PVP map is thrown in without warning.

Thats like eating a chicken sub, and half way through they threw in a piece of fish without warning. Yes its my fault for biting into a chicken sub without checking if the next bite is going to be chicken or not. But there is also a responsibility on the restaurant that made the sub to keep the sub consistent.

I agree with this 100%. I dont hate the idea of the grandmasters map, its cool if people want to pay money to show off their characters, but GGG should have made it more distinguished from the rest of the maps. They could have made it so it can be accessed different ways. Or set the map off to the site so people know its different. Throwing it into the PVE map atlas is just begging for new players like me to roll in and get my face rolled.

It just seem like a very dirty trick. They could have made it so you dont lose xp in the map, or something to make it new player friendly.

Yes its my fault for not doing 100% of the research into the map before doing it, but If i can clear ever map up to this point with ease and then hit this impossible wall with no warning just leaves me salty, and RIP hours of xp grinding.

Agreed, its like jumping into poorjoys and complaining right away after being oneshot by the first DD.

Even higher tier maps is worth checking into before doing a first run to see what boss is in there, and perhaps some of the interactions taking place.

I strongly disagree. First, because good design allows you to understand the specifics of what you encounter without requiring out-of-game research. Second, because even with that fore-knowledge, only a few builds tailored for PvP can complete that map. And by that, I mean I litterally cannot harm some of the Grandmasters with my RF build. Not even when adding Frost bomb.
This map belongs to PvP, not the Atlas.

last i checked, the HoGM is NOT a required map for atlas. it does NOT drop a shaper orb. it is ONLY needed if you want to 100% the atlas. I have 100% the atlas 1 time, and 1 time only. The atlas completion isnt supposed to be a cake walk.

Are you so adamantly defending the grandmaster map because you are a Grandmaster Supporter? As in you paid money to make it this hard? You just want to keep showing off your character?

Take a look at this situation without being bias, and you will see that this map does not fit into the atlas.

Your 'Grandmaster Supporter' tag is showing ;)

I would say that I agree with both of you. What you say is absolutely true. What MrTremere says is also true. Now I don't think it would be best for PoE to be that way but it is what it is. So MrTremere is correct on that count. I don't think it should be required to research unique maps before tackling them but, that's the way it is.

edit: note that I don't fault GGG a bit for making the map. It's a great idea to generate revenue for them. I suggest the OP look at the Hall of Grandmasters as a special challenge to be tackled by a specially designed character not by all or even many of the characters that one chooses to play into the end game. There are many such nice challenges in the game.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!
