Just out of curiosity and sheer laziness, is there any way to save different spectre setups? I’m reallly guessing no but the spectres aren’t “saved” in the gem itself?
I mean how sweet wouldn’t it be to have one boss setup and one clear setup...

Essentially, no. Among other things, most of them require different gem setups as well. This is, however, why we run Vanguards and Wickermen - 3-1, 2-2, or 1-3 setups, depending on whether we're looking for raw single target damage, balance, or clear speed. Both of these can share the same gem setup, and as long as we still have 1 of both types, we can resummon them easily.
Since the last patch, we could go into a map with one of each, summon 4 WM to clear it, then summon 4 TVs for the boss, then summon one WM back into the pack for the next map. However, I suspect the down time adjusting numbers twice per map would be longer than just running it in balanced mode with 2 of each and waiting out the extra few seconds to burn down the boss.

Originally I thought we can switch setup in a map, but I found that it is still heavily RNG-based and cumbersome, for example, it may take 10 minutes to get TV/WM in Shaper's Realm due to the size of desecrate table there.
So, take care if you plan to switch around different spectres. I decide that I'll stick to one setup for a long time, e.g. SG if I'm mapping for a long while, TV if I'm farming bosses for a long while.

You can't switch easily in one map as mentioned above. However, I think 4 Solar Guards can use the same color chest with 4 TV/WM: RS - Minion Damage - Elemental Focus - Minion Resistance (switched [Spell Echo] for Solar) - Burning Damage (switched [Fire Pen] for Solar) - Swift Affliction (switched [GMP/Slower Projectile] for Solar)

It's been a long time since I played Summoner, however, like many others, with all the new changes, I thought I'd go again.
That said, I'm a little confused about the level of my Specters. Hopefully, someone can clarify.
Scenario: I respected an old Witch (currently level 88) and I'm in the process of leveling Jewels.
1. Raise Specter - Level 14/Q20
2. Desecrate - Level 18/Q20
3. Hideout Master Level 8
4. Get a Wicker Man from Ravaged Square (L64)
5. Get Tukohama's Vanguard from The Coast (L45)
Questions:
1. If I summon the aforementioned Specters in my Hideout, what level will they be?
2. If I go to a higher level map, say Level 80, and summon, what level will these Specters be?
3. After logging out and back in, what level will the Specters be?
3. Is there a way to see the level of a Summoned being?
Thanks.
1. If you summon these in your HO, they will be level 60 - the level of your HO.
2. If you summon in higher level maps, they will be either the map level, or the level your Desecrate can create, or the level your Raise Spectre gem can raise... whichever is lower.
3. After you log back out and back in, the spectres will be the same level they were when you logged out.
4. No. /me grumbles.
The main differences now are:
- They will persist through logout.
- They will not downscale to the level of the map you are in... so, if you desecrate and raise in t17, shaper's realm, then go clear a Dungeon map, your specters will still be level 84. If, however, one of them died, and you cast desecrate and raise in the dungeon map, the resulting spectre would only be level 71.
PS: You have two point 3s. :)
Thanks for the help, I think I'm beginning to get the hang of this :)

As I only have a 5 link Vis currently, what would be the better link configuration for switching between SG and TV/WM?
I currently drop Swift Affliction but doing so means I lose a green socket, which is obviously needed for Solar Guards configuration.

Just re-color your chest. 3B-1R-1G is best dps 5L for TV/WM anyway. Just throw away the minion resistance gem, TV/WM is tanky enough without it, and from what I understand, SG is the same, too.

Thanks for that, I had my doubts about the resist gem.

heya,
i asked before but no one cared ;D
swift affliction > chance to ignite as for the last linked gem?
i know that on the first page it has been confirmed that SA is working for both TV and WM, but somewhere in this thread there was a discussion that SA isnt working for both.

Hey does swift affliction work with these?
It's work only for Takohama's vanguard totems, RF doesnt have Duration tag.
Both summons get bonuses from Burn dmg/Minion dmg/Ele focus/Chance to ignite (29% only + quality). Another gems only for boost one spectre (conc/aoe for RF, Con destr/efficacy/swift for SR totems)
here again a quote- RF doesn't have a duration tag so it's only working for TV
so what's correct?
wiki says different: https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Righteous_Fire

It seems counter intuitive, but duration-tagged supports have been tested a fair bit with Wicker Men and appear to work. This is based on quite good data. I'll dig up my findings. The standing tin-foil hat theory is that spectres have a hidden duration tag.
Edit: Did some new tests just to be safe. 1 x lvl 65 Wicker Man vs. Avarius Reassembled (65), no AG, Lvl 19 Q15 Swift Affliction:
Swift Affliction: (3 runs: 15.33 s, 14.68 s, 14.98 s) AVG 15.00 +/- 0.33 s
No Support Gem: (3 runs: 20.36 s, 18.73 s, 19.82 s) AVG 19.64 +/- 0.83 s
