The main reason why many Boss fight designs in PoE suck so much. You shouldn't be so penalized if you lack the dps to finish a boss quickly.


There are a couple exceptions you can do the the afk Wicked wards or 100% all res/90% phy res PF. But its true this game does not reward survivalist in SC. First off you are slower. Second with one shots it's just a error or two away form death even with 9K life. GTFO ASAP is best with DPS.

I am hoping pantheon will fix these, but I must say I highly doubt it. And one of reasons why Champion and Juggernaut now is crap compared to slayer or berserker is exactly that. That you gotta kill fast with like over 200k or 300k dps is what it is now.

The issue isn't getting 9K life. The issue is being able to keep enough damage in the meantime. My EQ Marauder does about 90k damage (not tooltip but actual damage). He's running Belly and has 8K life.

My Ice Crash Duelist also has 8K life but does 200K damage (again not tooltip). Both still can't really take down Shaper or Uber without a lot of work and some deaths. The issue with Shaper is the longer you take, the more of those stupid balls gather and if that happens, you will die. GGG can't build a game to save their lives.

In any case, both under perform to other skills and builds.

I don't know where all you guys are getting your damage values from but tooltip is worthless. Absolutely worthless.

Stacking 10K life isn't hard but a) you're trading tons of damage for it and b) using one of two chests: Belly or Kaom's, so what's the point when the entire end game of life based builds revolves around 2 unique chests.

actually, devs might be heading in the right direction. pantheon seem to be a good idea to build around defenses a bit more. killing doubledipping will certainly slow down the pace a little bit for some builds (rip my builds ^^) so that ennemies could possibly attack you at least once making defense a bit more interesting. that is still far from perfect but it's going in the right direction. then we will need some tweaks in endgame boss damages and HP. overall fights are interestings imo, i like all guardians fights exept the chimera because it's boring and not challenging at the same time (exept with +monster damage on his adds). the trio in uber lab need some tweaks too, i don't see how to deal with it without big damage paired with leech for a close range character.

shape degen bubbles are indeed another reason to go full damage, it's clearly designed to advantage damage over anything else. with less disparities in the damage department, they can still adjut the rate of bubbles apparitions so it's not that mandatory to put everyting on damage.

tool tip is indeed garbage for many skill, take blade flurry, 7K damage can translate into 5 effective millions DPS in 6 charge poison release. thank god path of buildings is there now, it almost feel like cheating.
