Is poe getting worse?

It has gotten objectively:
- Easier for the same content (power creep). Difficult new content is added after existing content.
- Easier to plan a build, mostly due to obvious BiS uniques, threshold jewels, and tree changes.
- Faster, both in base skill/weapon speeds and power creep availability of "faster X" sources.
- More complicated via league mechanics coming into core.

It's up to you how you weigh these things as good or bad.

Personally, the first three are all bad in my eyes, but I love the fourth. YMMV. I hope that 3.0 ups the pre-maps difficult up to somewhere close to where it used to be.
Back in CB/OB I thought GGG understood the hardcore arpg experience and naively I thought PoE would always be intended for the hardcore gamer. I should have known better when they caved into the FFA loot QQers.

I'm not mad about it though. It seems like they chose maximum profits vs a better quality game but with such a profitable product who could blame them?
ProjectPT and Reddit are ruining this game. Its honestly fucked how much shit continually gets nerfed and yet they constantly bitch. There are tons of challenging things in this game, most streamers choose not to do them or to reroll the maps.

This game was sooooo slow when it first came out. The AOE was so small. You could hardly do anything godlike. Growing your character is fun.

Is PoE getting worse? Nope, the global AoE nerf was a step to the right direction and melee slightly getting better, but the disparity is still. Who brings a sword to a battlefield (fight) which is bullet hell and the density is like a legion. AoE is a must with those factors, but at least it is not the type of AoE that can help you clear three screens away.

As for how the game was back in the days, GGG can at accommodate to some extent to the old players (well I am one, but I already pleased, so heh) that want early game to be impactful for the gameplay experience. I still think GGG will continue to do the "playing while watching Netflix" mantra since they have already grown so big to just stop where they are at. Of course, moderation is key to success. 3.0 will be BIG, be it positive or negative or both.
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

it's the sad life cycle of games

you'll either stagnate or outgrow and cave in with the newfound players

I can just say performance wise it seems worse in some cases. I'm normally at 60fps but for example in a burning ground map I hover between 20 to 25 fps. Running a 4ghz FX8350 and GTX970 SSC.

It's that AMD CPU causing your problems. Get you a real CPU, get an Intel.

I wish game developers would just cut out reddit from their list of suggestions for... anything, really
I'm loving it for the first time in a long time. Make of that what you will.
Fix the difficulty curve for 3.0 so the game isn't a faceroll and I am happy. While there are many decisions and directions I haven't agreed with. This is the big one that gets me all the time and why I come back to PoE less and less for new leagues.

It isn't that the game isn't a fun game, it is. I just can't get too into games that I don't find challenging any longer. I want PoE to kick me in the balls again.
