Dealing with Death Frustration

Log out of game until you're no longer pissed off about the bull shit thing you did or the bull shit thing you died to. Log back in and profit.

First off you got to remember the guidelines:

1. Don't play melee
2. Don't play melee (kind of important)
3. Do not use evasion (well you can but it fails semi-randomly and does not work against spells for some reason.)
4. Do not use Armor. (well you can but it really doesn't work against projectiles, big hits, spells, consecutive smalls hits, traps, boss skills, etc. still better than evasion though)
5. Cap your resistances (very important)
6. Do not use claws (unless you like wolverine or like being inefficient at killing. daggers do it better so do swords, axes, wands, unarmed, staffs, etc.)
7. Keep some sort of headache medicine nearby whenever you go to trade (if not other recreational things work.)
8. Complain about the lab
9. Do not complain about the lab
10. Keep a rubber chicken by your computer for luck (bet you did not see that coming)
11. Make a daily sacrifice to R.N.GSUS
12. Layer your defense but be wary of guidelines 3 & 4
13. Do not get frustrated when things go awry (drops in fps, random one-shots, dying in hideout, etc. these are all isolated things)
14. The Atlas is not your friend
15. Imminuties are not legit but they seem legit so that is close enough
16. Do not play melee (seriously they will find you)
17. Do not play PvP
18 Rogue Exiles ain't shit (even in groups they ain't shit)
19. Prophecy Helps?
20 Loot Filters love them, cherish them, use them, and never look back


Second, you take a drink (if you are old enough to drink)
Third, you go to an area that you can wipe out with ease
Fourth. you return to your grind but this time you say fuck and go ham. and I am not talking regular ham i mean like green eggs and shit.

1. Stare the resurrect dialog for a few mins (this time may vary based on the hundreds of chaos invested in the char)

2. Resurrect in standard and remove all of the mtx. (Cursing is involved here when you realize you ripped with the astramentis you borrowed from your other char, who no longer can use any skills)

3. come back next day with a new build idea and delete/remake char

Easy. Max level is 93. Live that.

He's playing Howa for God's sake :P And his items are pretty decent + vinktar's, too, check the char :P

Don't run red maps
Don't kill bosses
Easy leveling, maybe a bit slower but a hell lot more efficient and chill mode imo.

For example this league without even trying I got to 90 without a single red map and didn't even notice I was 90 by the time I was half to 91.

I deal with the frustration of dying at 90+ the same way I deal with any character that dies, I press delete and go make a new one :p

Only my best char of a league gets to survive the culling and they usually get cut down.

"dealing with it" is shaped stands like everyone else who wants high levels. WTF you expect to runs 16s and shaper and make it? naw mate has never been that way - before shaping there was gorge all day ROTA or bought solos whatever was always path of least resistance.

Honestly I look at 100s as no life cowards way game is structured. Dont do it. I will think less of u

not to mention utility aspect. I can build like 7 GG shaper killing toons in time it takes to make one 100 peacock.

The only solution I've found is running high yellows or low, safe reds. Inevitably, I start to think things are going well, step up the difficulty, and get one-shotted.

This. the game is notorious for lulling you into complacency and then punishes you for it. I think I've been 60% to L93 and got kicked back to 40% 3 times. After that, I just stopped playing.

A go-to game might help when frustrated. Mine is World of Tanks, RNG is there too but you get to put all your saltiness to blowing up tanks and get the luxury to blame others (even if it's my fault) when losing ^^. But seriously, get out of PoE and do something else and remember that the game is set to make it hard for everyone to reach 100 so quitting is a real option.
