" Hello :) Increased burning damage might affect ignites that Golems are doing on critical hits, but the damage is very minimal. Increased burning damage should affect Tukohama Vanguard Specters as as I understand. It's usually linked to TVs and I dont see why it would affect them in the helmet? " Hey :) The helmet is pretty sweet, but the buff only affects your damage on both the helmet and with elementalist nodes. It wont affect Golems own damage in anyway. There is separate enhancement for increasing Golems damage 40%. Immolate wont actually do very much with any minions, minion life is nice but not needed. If you want most damage, you want minion damage + conc effect for golems / SR specs or minion damage + inc burn damage for TV specs. This league its possible to mix Golems and Specs as there as so many good necro items available. I would use Golems as most important 6 link and add TV specs to increase boss damage massively. " Hey :) Your gear looks like its at pretty good shape. You can make some bigger changes if you like : - Drop Necro Aegis and buy spell block rare shield. This will give you 75/75% block chance when offering and Rumis flask is up. Golems will lose charges and lots of damage, so it's tradeoff if not adding specters with Golems. - Use Tukohama Vanguard Specters with / without Animate Guardian to increase single target damage 3-4x. You probably want Soul Weaver if you want to use Specters. You can check my league profile for links / gear if your interested. - Maybe replace all Harmonies with 14-15% cooldown ones for increased Golem cast speed. Also the rare jewels with minion block chance can be replaced with Harmonies to boost Golems damage and survival. You really want to stack as much Golem cooldown as possible. - Try to get Flame Golems 21/0 to boost damage and Golems HP. without quality they are pretty cheap and extra level is much better than quality. Right now your defenses are good but damage can still be increased by tons. Going almost all Harmonies with max cooldown reductions is huge boost, as is possibility to add 2-3x TV specters. " I definitely had my unearth totem at level 16 :). Whoops! No mana issues with Unearth Totem level 1 or Storm Burst(for EE) now! I went a little crazy with HP/ES Abyss jewels instead of Harmonies. I re-socketed the Harmonies they are doing crazy more damage now (so much faster casting of golems). Follow-up question: How far do Harmonies stack? Are they multiplicative(like MORE vs Increased?)? Should i just have every single socket filled with 15% cooldown for golems? For my HP/ES im at 4.15/4.45k right now. So not quite at your maxes. Feeling very tanky which is nice. 75 all res and 75 chaos resist. My end-goal is shaper kill with this guy. So maybe i should look at fire pen instead of Controlled Destruction for that fight? |

" Harmonies stack for as many as you can slot in. They aren't multiplicative as far as I can tell. You can read my reply to Aboba a few posts back regarding the discussion of just how much harmonies are giving. My theory right now is at the very least we are getting more cooldown per harmony than just the "Golems have (10-15)% increased Cooldown Recovery Speed" is giving. How much, and from what source exactly, we haven't ironed out yet cause there's only a few people doing testing, and I don't have a character in standard anymore (oops). Working theory is that "Golem Skills have (20-30)% increased Cooldown Recovery Speed" also applies, but it's only a hypothesis based on Aboba's data. At some point you'll reach a low enough cooldown that you'll instead be limited by cast speed instead of the cooldown(You can see tomatopotato's posts and videos). And at that point you're better off slotting Eminence, or perhaps combination abyss jewels with minion cast speed + damage on them. As for your gem sockets for Shaper, controlled destruction should still be more damage than Fire Pen from looking at Path of Building. Elemental Equilibrium is very powerful penetration. If you think you'll have trouble applying EE, then Fire Penetration will be better. |

Brilliant guide. loving the playstyle but something in my build seems wrong. A touch squishy even with fortify on shield charge. Life pool about 3400 and es about 3100. All rez are maxed including chaos. I am not running animate guardian version mine is a lot closer to wonderful's. If anyone has any suggestions on changes after checking profile please let me know. the golem community seems so helpful compared to some others. just look at the 183 pages of help in this guide alone. Character name is Tippergore. One other thing is I'm not sure if I have the right gem combo for the helm I have found a conc effect minion damage minion life helm for spectre set up using Tuk vanguards. Put in raise spectre- totem minion rez support- burning damage- ele focus. thanks in advance for the help

" Is it worth to use 4L Spectres (in boots)? If yes, then what gems should I link to it? And is there a good place I can find high level Tukohamas? I don't think I'll use your current setup, but some ideas are pretty good. Maybe I'll replace block jewels, but I was thinking about putting minion block/minion life/minion damage instead (2 of them). We will see. For now I'm leveling flame golems with 20q, will vaal them on 20 lvl, which is soon! Hopefully will get one 21lvl. And I'm sure gonna replace my golem jewels for the <faster> ones. About block - I think it's high enough as it is (even with non-legacy flask that is almost always on), and Path of Building shows that without charges the dps is much lower, so I don't think I should drop Aegis. Don't put the spectres in the boots, switch to a +1 level corrupted set of boots and stick the curses in there. Then use the helm for spectres.

Could I substitute ball lightning out with frostbolt (cold would slow down even more against faster bosses) or would that lose a lot of EE would you think due to the little sparks not proccing as much?

"Just to be clear, I have no intention of promoting one Ascendancy over the other. I've played both extensively to Shaper/endgame and I believe they're both solid choices. If there were other skill that current summon Golem ones, it would be useful, but as Golems are resummoned very rarely, its not very effective to stack it. " Hey and thanks for support :) Your main problem is that you have some low ES gear. Bones of Ulr are very low on ES, so getting +1 specter is big tradeoff from ES and EHP. Your helmet could also use upgrading as its not ES base at all. Tukohama Specters cant use Conc Effect at all and want burning damage support instead. Almost any 100+ ES helmet with minion damage support + burning damage support will give better damage and protection without costing more than 10-20c. YOu might want to make boots 3+1 link, so that Enhance wont increase Disciplines mana reservation for no benefit. This way you can drop "Sovereignty" which i guess you have taken for that reason. The Vertex + Rainbowstrides provide almost 400 ES compared to few dozen from Bones boots and 0-100 ES usually found in minion support helmets. You have to compensate that loss of EHP by more defenses elsewhere. Dropping Necro Aegis is one way to increase block chance if you cast actively Bone Offering to keep max block up. You can find links and gear in my league char. Try to find +1 level of socketed gems Bones of Ulrs as fast as possibly and buy enhance lvl 3. Maxing Temporal Chains is your best defense. If you are no using Necromantic Aegis, you should change shield for spell block rare one or RathPith unique one. Victarios Charity is useful only if you are using Necro Aegis as minion will generate charges almost instantly for themselves. Guild has been very fun and is growing really fast atm, feel free to join us if you want ;) " " Hey :) Yep, forgot to mention but using curses in +1 boots and Specters in pseudo 6 link helmet is what really gives them the extra DPS. However TV specters work fine even in boots as 4 link. I have used "Soul Weaver" myself and have not tested specs without it, so cant tell if its needed or not. Dropping Necro Aegis really drops lots of DPS, so its good to keep it if you feel that block chance is enough :) " Hi :) You really want to use Arctic Breath in that case, as its guaranteed to leave chilled ground. Frost Bolt wont leave chill effect and mobs will remain normal speed. Arctic Breath is fun to stack slow effects with Temp Chains, Animate Guardians maim and hinder but not really practical as the area it covers is much smaller than with ball lightning. It however does not eat as much fps and still covers ok area, so its worth testing if you like it. " Hey :) I think it's more beneficial if you could take part of Elementalist questions. Arguing over which one is better is pretty hard as the thread is labeled Necro only and I'm optimizing only the Necro side as I feel it has been performing better for me. There are however always those who are interested in Elementalist version. As you have counless play-hours with that class you may provide more indepth answers. I will always promote Necro over Elementalist but I'm not saying that Elementalist is impossible to get to work and I can guide interested players to contact you. It would work fine if you want to take part in helping those players ;) " Hi :) Volley is better when leveling with Flame Sentinels as they have built in LMP and will still shoot 5x projectiles straight forward.
