Most Tanky Build
So I recently got a koams heart drop and built a RF character, and I have to say its my favourite character I've ever made. I used two of the new koams way rings for regen with 10 endurance charges. I could run tier 7 maps at level 70, with 7.3k life, about 15-16% life regen going over 20% by the end of the build. Because of the endurance charges, having about 5k armour at level 70 was giving me over 80% estimated phys damage reduction. I had 83/79/82 ele resists thanks to saffels frame, PoL and PoF. Oh and I had fortify.
But I died because I forgot to turn auras on after logging out and back in due to being stuck in an instance due to a bug, went in to a map, and then stopped to put my auras back on while being pounded by devourers and not having my endurance charges, fortify or PoF up. RIP. But side note, RF actually did WAY more damage than I expected. Even in tier 7 maps at level 70 I could just walk in a straight line and everything aside from rares would be dead by the time i walked past it. rares would require me to cyclone through to apply elemental equilibrium and slow myself down slightly, but they died quick too. I'll definitely remake the character, as long as you don't do anything derpy like me, and keep all your defences up I can't see you dying very easily. |

First off, nothing to my knowledge can facetank Uber's double flameblast. Second, to facetank Uber's storm calls and single flameblasts, you need a specialized build which has nothing to do with block. You need high hitpoints and overcapped fire/lightning res with a combination of purities, flasks and/or saffell's/RotP. At least that's what I know in theory, haven't done it personally. Some of the block builds posted here are great for facetanking most of the content in the game and would get instagibbed by Uber if they don't block.
Second, most of the posters here said regen tank or block tank, but IMO the best tank in the game is the high-ES vaal pact leech tank. Basically any build with a 10k+ ES pool, instaleech and a high enough damage output to instantly heal from anything which doesn't oneshot it. A super-high ES regen tank can also do the job but its clear speed will be a tragedy. Block tanks are a bit rng-reliant if they don't have at least 7k hitpoints and/or solid all-around flat mitigation apart from the block. Otherwise, something which goes through the block may onehit you. I've been oneshot at 8,4k hitpoints with 40% dodge / 56% spell dodge by the Orchard boss (his triple ball attack hit me while I was standing next to a tree, the other two balls hit exploded in the tree and I got shotgunned). You have to be realistic about these things. Logen Ninefingers Dernière édition par Bars#2689, le 19 août 2016 à 06:03:33

" Dem max res nerfs =( :D " This. While I don't remember getting hit for over 11k, 8-10k hits are not as rare as I'd like them to be (jk, I play that Witch of mine like a pleb. but that's why I've built her this way) |

With this and gladiator 100% block to spells you can facetank everything, at level 75 I have 71/71 block chance, more points to come... I played Earthquake previous league and i left because poor damage, but now we have some little thing called Ancestral Warchief, this amazing skill it's doing 36k with increased area unbuffed. With vaal haste, Lion's Roar, Atziri Promise, punishment and Concentrated effect the damage is insane, and don't forget the bleeding!!! Yestarday i run tier 12 rare Shipyard with vulnerability, more magic monsters and bloodlines been level 69 and a tabula, deathless! if that's not tanky enough for you i don't know what the hell is. now i'm level 75 with huge improvement space. here some images taken with Whatsapp for my guildmates: http://imgur.com/a/2LNFE Sorry for quality but as I said the pictures was for whatsapp... Yup, CI/GR/ZO pretty much gives two ways to renew ES. When life regen and life leech is all going to ES, along with reductions to ES recharge rate makes for a fairly insane defense. Doesn't level very well, and low DPS, but more tanky than life-based tanks.

Why are people pretending that anvil buffs max spell block? 2 people in this topic claimed to have 78 spell block.
Spell block can never exceed 75 (at least, until they make a unique that buffs it). Dernière édition par codetaku#0468, le 19 août 2016 à 22:12:29

" i'll point out that a leechy slayer tank can still deal impressive damage depending on your skill of choice: earthquake is spectacular due to rolling in 'more' modifier gems, and lacerate is similar for hipsters who don't like earthquake (or are using advancing fortress/wings of entropy/weird-zany-block-option-of-choice) there's also room for dagger/shield flicker strike if you stretch teh tree and you're feeling brave (though you'll have to resort to frenzy or some other skill during mirror phase to not oneshot yourself) you can also hit astounding blockchance even past the acrobatics penalty with gladiator and the right gear, letting you stack dodge/block/evasion/fortify and possibly endurance charges, which makes things like daresso's or even kintsugi an interesting idea if you're not running bringer of rain. EDIT: to elaborate!
Spoiler
after doing some maths at 5am, running a tree like:
https://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAABAQCAJstXzkOQwaLivDNXyDj6UbEgl_akvfKkAom-AKE2Ud-L8y9NsGCZU1NRr6nYuwZtITvLYOi6trBFSAS4S5TdO3dDSzpCTPTbwUt4JVbr3LDhrPRNnrvstwNjasL4ixAoAhJ_MWHdswGwL9eE1bo7g63F-OfqZXvTqOKXPlKfQz3YVIj9rGzZFqsr8VTTZKNfRuteK44lhuX3DIwfJS4PeIyTkh41FJRR3sUSO4FPAMnN9SNv9N-RNLtP_rrBbXUI311AF6j55Lzwuzo1jBx_roZjgIRXkW0xTqtmybdqO2DYqxvhDIBS3gILmyM_xyyGTpCnarPemHrelMi6mqVmheSgA== lets you theoretically overcap block and spell block (with gear) AFTER the acrobatics penalty, while having somewhat decent hp/ES capability, dodge, good evasion and resists, and decent physical damage: 35% from tree (effectively 5% post-acrobatics) 26% shield base (mirrored spiked shield) 15% weapon (advancing fortress) 12% gems (3x reckless defense) 8% if hit recently (ascendancy) 8% amulet (the anvil, +3 max block) 6% shield suffix 3% tempest shield 2% gloves (haku) coming to 85%% block/spellblock after gladiator ascendancies and the acrobatics penalty. BEFORE a possible rumi's concoction, bringer of rain, and +4% block amylet corruption (these can all be used to compensate for less than perfect block rolls on the above). you could run an evasion/ES helm with life and resists along with a chest like hyrri's ire (+atziri's step) for more dodge, a daresso's for more endurance charges, or kintsugi for the damage reduction on the first hit you take (and between all the dodging and blocking, this should have some pretty solid uptime) your rings, gloves (minus the haku suffix), and belt can all be used for additional resists and defenses as you like. if you can wield a shield in your main hand and the fortress in your offhand, you'd get free endurance charge generation too, but i'm not sure that works in my sleep-deprived state. after actually looking at it i may actually use this build for the essence league as a later character! "the anvil's effect, if i were to guess. Dernière édition par AndIMustMask#0526, le 20 août 2016 à 06:06:55
