Open a Unique strongbox Challenge

These strongboxes seem to be more common than the older unique ones. I have found 1 already.

Keep aiming for those strongbox prophecies (especially monstrous treasure).

That's the plaguemaw prophecy, it seems to always spawn a unique arcanist which does NOT count for the challenge. Oh and drops from it are same as ordinary arcanist.

(a) all strongboxes are more common now. This was in the 2.3 patch notes. Unique strongboxes are 2x as common as previously.

(b) yes, I've been collecting monstrous treasures... I've had 2 go off so far, I have 1 active, and I have 2 more in stash. The issue isn't so much aiming for them as getting them to actually trigger.

Spawnrate of the unique boxes are extremely poor, except for the barrel which spawns here and there. They said they buffed the rate, but idk by how much. Probably not enough to make any real difference.

Anyway, you'll get this challenge same way people get any challenge: trade chat, global 820, etc.

"Playing since closed beta" isn't actually relevant when you're talking about something that was introduced in 1.1 (strongboxes).

Anyway, ignoring how your highest-leveled character is relatively uninspiring which implies comparatively low gameplay, either you haven't been using all of your chance orbs or you have really garbage luck with chance orbs. I chanced a unique map and a mjolner just in the perandus 2-week league, and I have many other successful chance orbs in history besides that.

Wow, aren't you condescending and full of yourself. I've played almost every day for an hour or so except for a few short breaks over the years. I don't make POE a full time job (as I suspect you do from your snobbish comments). I also don't grind at breakneck speeds from the moment I log on but rather spend ample time messing around with alts and trying out new builds. So grats to you on your uber-elite status as a POE player.

To the other poster who indicated there is a prophecy that grants one, thanks for sharing that. It was helpful, unlike some other comments.

I've found one unique strong box (barrel) after a year of playing in Standard a few months ago. I didn't realize at the time how rare they are...it would be cool to find another one...

I remember finding a wind-sumthing unique strongbox that gave me a perandus crest.. but was like 5-10 days before perandus ends. I just tried chancing a white jewelers couple hrs ago but only gave me a magic. still need to work on my luck..

gotta ask since its about hard to get prophecy items, I have like 4 double enchantments after lab run, and I cant finish a labrun just yet, I can only last like 3 maps n can't last 10 sec with 1st izaro nor argus.(my Templar is so weak, messed up my passive, yes) if i let d labrun go and just tradeoff d sealed prophs, how much is it worth?

n last question, just finished normal. can i go to cruel n get back at normal lab later on when my char is better?

Double enchants in normal aren't worth anything.

Yes, you can proceed and do lab whenever you feel ready for it.

Double enchants in normal aren't worth anything.

cant wait to get enchants from the next 2.was beginning to think I needed to get stuck in normal n level up a notch forever or leave normal lab behind n never look back. just needed to hear it from d pros.. thanks raics.

Yeah, they can be chanced, and the caches and Ashes of the Condemned all use the regular strongbox as a base, so chancing every white regular strongbox will probably net you one in time.

Also, the chances of getting unique strongboxes has been increased dramatically in the last few major patches... chances were upped in 2.1 or 2.2 iirc and in 2.3 they were further doubled. In leveling my character to 90 this league, i came across 2 'natural' unique strongboxes (a redblade cache and Ashes), chanced 2 more (a strange barrel and the maraketh one), and there was another strange barrel that i can't remember if i found naturally or chanced... either way, 5 of the things in getting one character to 90 chancing normal stronboxes along the way. So yeah, seems to me like if you're concerned about doing all (or at least 36) of the challenges, you'll probably pull off the strongbox one on the way to the lvl 90.
