Open a Unique strongbox Challenge

Hi,

can i get the needed boxes when i use a chance orb on the right base box?

Or are this special boxes that only spawn in some kind of event?

They just randomly spawn, so, I would assume you can Chance them with the same rates as other Uniques... But, not positive, not something I thought of trying to be honest.

The strongboxes introduced in ambush were definitely chance-able. I haven't heard a report on the new strongboxes. I would really hope they are also chance-able, but I don't even know what the base types of the new unique strongboxes are; you'd have to find that out in order to know which ones to chance.

I don't really like that the challenge specifically requires one of the new strongboxes =.=" I found a kaom's cache already this league and that doesn't count.

there is a map that grants unique strongboxes after you clear it in time; cant remember what it is called but wouldn't that work too?

No, you need to open one of the listed strongboxes and Oba's boxes aren't on the list. I imagine you can chance these new boxes and I've been trying it but no cigar so far.

Not a fan of this challenge. I've been playing since closed beta and have never seen a unique strongbox ever. I've also never had luck getting a unique from using a chance orb. On any item.

Another way to complete the unique strongbox challenge is through a prophecy chain. One of the prophecies grants a guaranteed chance for one to spawn. I have found three unique strongboxes this way so far!

The plaguemaw ambush strong Box does not work. Its also not listed, like obas or grandmaster chests.

"Playing since closed beta" isn't actually relevant when you're talking about something that was introduced in 1.1 (strongboxes).

Anyway, ignoring how your highest-leveled character is relatively uninspiring which implies comparatively low gameplay, either you haven't been using all of your chance orbs or you have really garbage luck with chance orbs. I chanced a unique map and a mjolner just in the perandus 2-week league, and I have many other successful chance orbs in history besides that.
