Zealot's Oath > Ghost Reaver
My witch is using a Doryani's Invitation which leeches life, and with my Geofri's Sanctuary Zealot's Oath is giving me ES regen... SO I WAS TOLD. I can't really tell if it works or not, I know that my life isn't regenerating at all, but the ES doesn't seem to move much.
As I look at the passive tree, I see Ghost Reaver. So I'm now wondering... what I was told is FALSE? Dernier bump le 6 mai 2016 à 04:34:24

You have 1.8% regen from the passive tree and a pretty low ES pool judging from your items and passives. What exactly do you expect? 1.8% is 18 per 1000.
You have to be realistic about these things.

I expect to have my LIFE LEECH from my belt to apply to my ES. I can't tell if Zealot's Oath applies to LEECH (was told leech is part of regen). I expect someone to tell me that what I want is actually Ghost Reaver and not Zealot's Oath.

Zealot's Oath is a keystone passive skill that applies life regeneration to energy shield instead of life. ->taken from wiki
so, to make it work well you need to have a lot of life regeneration in the first place. 2ndly, the life regeneration works off a total % of your energy shield (not total life pool). As in, 1000 energy shield points wont really help it. ex: 10% life regen per sec (this is a lot of regen) with 1000 energy shield points is only 100 es regen per sec. 100 points per sec barely covers the smallest of enemy engagements. in short, you need like 4000+ es and probably like 5%+ life regeneration per sec to make zealots oath to feel the slightest bit protective. oh and yeah, life leech is not necessarily life regen. you'd need ghost reaver to leech es with life leech. (0.2 % leech certainly helps but as you push further into endgame you'll need more than that unless you wipe out the screen instantly w/o being touched always. Ok so ultimately, as I stand right now, neither Zealot's Oath nor Ghost Reaver is really helping me. It's a "good" thing to know. Just not sure where to spend my skill tree points now though... I'm lost.

" You need a more significant investment to get any benefits. I would recommend staying entirely away from Zealot's Oath, it's simply not worth it without a huge fucking pile of ES and regen. Ghost Reaver with Vaal Pact, more substantial leech and high damage works wonders. It's actually one of the ways to break the game if you can pull off sufficient numbers. But you'll want at least a Warlord's Mark or a life leech gem to make it count. The advantage to Zealot's Oath is you won't need a ton of Energy Shield, it's a strong mechanic even with about 3000 ES if you have enough damage. You have to be realistic about these things.

Thanks again. I saddly keep dying against Izaro (merciless)... maybe I need one of those Zealot's Oath flask... I got about 3600 life and 2000 es, and when my es is down, hes able to 1-shot me. (you could argue I need to move, which I keep doing, but maybe its Spell Echo that doesn't help either)
Hmm. Not happy. | |
Look into rejuvenating totem and stone golem, with those two you should be able to regenerate 200es per second.

Hmm, but I took Liege of the Primordial ascendancy passive, which grants me 40% increase damage from the golem type: I took the Ice Golem. My dps is barely 13K atm, if I'm to remove 40% from that... gonna take an eternity to kill him haha!
Oh my... | |
Farm and level up and leave it for later. No one said you must do merciless Izaro this early.
You have to be realistic about these things.
