Constant pc crashes while playing PoE.

I am also having the crash problem and it is definitely due to overheating. No game has ever taxed my graphics card like PoE does. Within 2 minutes my fan is up to full speed and if I don't take the side off my PC tower the game will crash within 20 mins. I'm worried about playing - my graphics card sounds like a jet engine taking off. My card is a Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT with the latest drivers and I don't have this problem with any other game. Any ideas? I've tried both in full screen and a lower res windowed mode but both are really taxing the graphics card in an odd way. I know other's have reported this problem as well just wondering if there is a solution?

I tried to edit my previous post but it wouldn't let me - wanted to add that vsync was on at all times but still lots of overheating problems.

I report same issue here. Game hangs up on loading screen, sometimes it hangs up in the middle of battle.
I successfully finished the first act without troubles, but in the second act it becomes unstable. I may play for hour without major trouble or it may hang up on the second minute of gameplay. When game hangs up only restart helps. |

Hello, i'm here beacause i got the same problem. I'm playing Titan quest on max setttings at 60°C CPU/ 66°C GPU for many hours with no crashs.. While i'm running PoE on low settings with 54°C CPU/60°C GPU for about 10mins the game always crash. So i'm here to say, maybe it's not an overheating problem? I'm playing on a Intel core 2 Quad Q8200, nvidia 9600GS, Windows 7 64bits. Maybe there is a conflict between the game and the OS? I would really try this game to make a preview for my friends. Hope you guys find the problem and fix it asap. Have a nice day!
Ps: All my hardwares are up to date. My computer has been cleaned for dust etc.. |

You should also check to see if you have a Creative sound card - The game currently has problems with them that we're looking into a fix for. The bottom post on this thread has some information that may act as a temporary workaround until we are able to fix the problem.

My computer crashing too while playing path of exile which isnt occuring with any other games.

Same problem here, and yes I do have a Creative soundcard. First workaround didn't work, guess I'll have to try the second suggestion with the registry.
