Top causes for death in PoE?
in high level maps you can die just by getting hit by a bunch of white mobs
i did all sort of suicidal maps without problems and then didn't pay attention for a second and ran into a random pack and died instantly | |
I've died from nodding off at the PC :)

In my case the vast majority is simple human stupidity. Know that you should not do something and finish doing it. The great human stupidity factor is strong... Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what?

Detonate corpses strong boxes.
Also had a surprising death on my mjolner guy, I was chasing a tormented spirit and didn't think much if it, turns out the mobs it affected started to silence me. I died and didn't know wtf had happened |

My 3 deaths in HC so far:
- Act 3 Normal, Sceptre of God: Dominus Blood Rain (should have googled that Boss before) - Act 3 Normal, Crematory: due to hubris I got myself surrounded by Piety's guards and stuck - Act 4 Normal, Kaom's Path: screen freeze + Triskeriaki (death no 1 + 2 were with my very first 2 characters in PoE, death no 3 after almost 2 years break) Most causes for deaths in SC: - Strongbox-Lag (no more HC for me, until no more screen freezes) - Unique Bosses with Tormented Spirit's Grasp - some Invasion (or Corrupted Area) Bosses Didn't get into maps yet, as I play PoE rather occasionally and inefficient and solo selffound (currently building up a map pool to get started some time). |

Death for me is always initiated by lag when a big hit is coming either from a boss or a strongbox. No matter what preparations i do, by the time i press flasks or run away with a movement gem, screen freezes and that split second usually ends with my toon dying.
It would be more acceptable if a death log explains it. But this QoL improvement never gets the nod somehow so deaths maybe made more informative and preventable. Dernière édition par monsoonrider#0990, le 29 nov. 2015 à 00:22:24

1) pushing content too hard during leveling
2) being tired 3) not paying attention (cat, voice chat) 4) being too lazy to have my fingers on the flasks 5) underestimating the damage a monster can do in a single attack (I got this!) 6) testing the limits of a build (Can I tank the laser from Torture Chamber boss? The answer was: No.) . . . . 137) corpse explosion 138) opening a strongbox with rogue exile Funny thing is: I haven't died to being AFK in a map or on loadscreen once yet. And I often just AFK in a corner of an area during lunch or something. =3 PoE needs better social features... and more cats!

My deaths have mostly been:
1) strong box lags 2) lag in general when it freezes the screen then eventually it all catches up and I am dead. 3) playing tired should not play Poe straight after finishing 12 hour night shift. 4) sloppy play on my part... which happens more times then not. LGW |

Top 3 reasons I die:
1) Playing with 'always show items' enabled and not seeing Flame/Frost/Storm bearers explosions building up on the ground. 2) Doing certain Boss fights I know I should just skip due to map affixes that compliment that maps Bossfight too well. Double Boss, Faster Move, Attack + Cast and 4 additional projectiles on Malformation map anyone? 3) Fatigue. When I start playing having just woken up or toward the end of a session... just play sloppy and slow. "The key to winning any fight is simply staying alive."
