8,8% is more than what you need assuming 75% resistances

Reflect is 14%

Non-resisted damage is 25%

0,25*0,14 = 0,035

Taken damage from reflect is 3,5%

LVL20 Life Leech gives 8,8% leech and Vaal Pact multiplies this amount by 40%

0,088*0,4 = 0,0352

Leeched damage is 3,52%

3,5% < 3,52%

This means you will always leech back from reflect under normal circumstances.

Also, the size of the elemental hit is fully irrelevant for the purposes of the LL gem. There is however a damage threshold that you may not surpass, because it will instantly kill you.

Your maximum life / 0,14 / 0,25 = ?

? is the max SINGLE HIT damage that you can deal before killing yourself to reflect.

With a 3,2k life pool or whaveter you have, the amount is 91428 damage. This is however probably impossible to get with arc/fireball/arctic breath.

i have a coc barrage shadow and reflect is a complete non issue for the build. this is what I have going on...

gems: barrage, coc, gmp, fireball, arc, power charge on crit

1% fire leech on belt, 1% fire leech on wand, vaal pact, purity of fire aura, saffells frame shield, phase acrobatics, cast on damage taken + warlords mark, herlad of thunder + curse on hit + warlords mark.

I have a ruby flask and an atziri flask which i pop when i notice reflect but a lot of times i dont notice and its never an issue.
