Thoughts on melee and hardcore?

Exactly my thoughts with molten srike duelist in 1w HC, currently in a2 merciless and the level of annoyance has reached the threshold, where I consider not going further with this char

have no idea why they have penalized melee even further with this mods

I want game to be challenging and hard but I dont think that "challenging" has to mean "annoying"

Melee is great up to mid 70 maps. At that point the spike damage starts to get pretty high and the most common way for people to deal with it is to be out of range. Which is no easy task for a melee char. It is certainly not impossible to progress past that as melee. I have seen blenders destroy high maps and atziri. I have seen builds face tanking every map boss. But it is much easier to progress late game as a ranged character. If you like playing HC and melee then go for it. I just cake walked through hc merc Dom with a 2h groundslamer but that char would struggle in mid maps. Still had a blast.

Edit: full disclosure, I stun locked Dom. :D
