I never even knew about until when got a guy at work join our conversation about D2. While I don't party, my friend did and the new guy showed up a day later with total Godly gear. He explained how it only cost him so much money to buy it.
I still don't get it. I play the game to find the good stuff. Too beat the game on my own. To die horribly on the beach over and over again! That said, I currently have no positive feelings towards this new patch. I give it a try, but I'm getting close to giving up on PoE for good. (Not the forum, relax.) |

I have a fascination with the games economy. I think Chris nailed it... I took a class in sociology and it's interesting how a community acts to change.

I RMTed a bunch of titles.

I'm currently RMTing in Infinity Wars. I bought a bunch of booster packs and ended up with a huge pile of cards that no one wants to trade for, and buying more boosters would have only made the useless pile bigger.
They allow RMT, people openly link to their RMT shops in the in-game trade chat, and the price to simply buy the cards you want is a lot cheaper than it would be to buy endless boosters in the hopes of finding what you want, or something worthwhile you can trade. Wrote a thread about it here |

BTW, Infinity Wars being a card game and all that, its pretty normal to sell what cards you dont need plus if its in line with the game devs its all fine and dandy. Kinda like how D3s RMT was legal because the game company got a cut from the sales and even created some RMAH for it. In other words: If game devs say yes to RMT then its ok, its a shitty thing to do when people do it even though its against the rules. |

Before i really stopped playing the game, RMT seemed to me unreasonable, unethical and unfair. Now that i do not really play anymore, it seems downright retarded. You WILL quit eventually, and you will have spent lot's of money on worthless pixels. An RTMer in the end is the ultimate loser.
