Drop rate problem (of the good stuff)

This is a hardcore game. It's meant for people who wants to play at least a few hours everyday for months. It's not your average 10-20 hours game. You are also supposed to look up about vendor recipes, learn how to use your orbs, learn the value of your orbs and items and do some trading. You have to expect to get nothing for several days at a time. You have to expect to play for weeks or months before that holy shit drop.

They buffed the drop rate of many uniques recently and I do see the difference, I've had many more of them drop than ever before.

Don't you miss making a sorc and mfing nicely while leveling up your other characters? it felt great doing all this mix in the game! And it didn't feel hard and time consuming even though in the end, it was.
I liked it (obviously, because I liked d2) but I also like poe's style of progression.

In d2 your mf char is what progresses all of your gear progression and all of your other chars are basically playgrounds. Sure I don't mind that, but like I said, anyone who does not like to mf could not play the game longer than just getting through the story (killing diablo and maybe getting rushed to hell baal just for the hell of it) because of this.

Sawm has it almost completely backwards. If you don't mf in d2 you do not get rewarded. You don't progress just by playing. Just like Poe you could spend days mf'ing and get no uniques. However in poe you get tons of currency just from selling rares and drops from trash mobs. That is what I call progression just from playing the game.

If you play poe the same way that you would play d2 (picking the most efficient farm char to start, MF sorc) you can get a similar effect. Playing a summoner or Detonate Dead or many others can get you right to the highest level of maps in a short time with bad items.

Stacking mass MF in D2 pretty much ensure that over a week you'd at least find something decent. Stacking mass MF in PoE means that in 6 months you might get a semi-usable unique and a shit ton of useless rares.
Sounds like the expansion is perfect for you :)

It shouldn't have taken GGG years to figure this out when people were pointing out how bad it was to self-found your way through the game since they released Act 3.

And since Invasion league, I pretty much have 0 faith in GGG's balance team. David Brevik and Gazillion Games does a better job, and they are pretty fucking atrocious when it comes to balancing Marvel Heroes.

Generic Korean Grinder > PoE in terms of hardcore time spent.

Good ol' GGG support force backing up the WK again

Again, try not quoting me out of context. I've lost faith in the GGG balance team. And considering that Chris Wilson and the rest of the GGG team owned up to their horrible balancing of the Invasion league, I'd say that most people are warranted in their skepticism of the GGG.

for players who don't want to use 2000 fusings and fail to six-link an item, you can pay 1500 to do it at a crafting bench. Note that the odds of rolling this naturally have always been slightly lower than 1 in 1500 anyway

HOW ON EARTH am I supposed to get 1500 fusing orbs?after an hour playing, how many do you get? 1? 2?

Let's say 2 to be super positive and let's make rapid math.

1500/2 = 750 hours

Let's say that I play 2 hours on monday night, 2 on thursday and what, 4 during the week end (that's alrdy a lot but hey, at some point I have to give something in) That's 8 hours per week. Getting 6 links will take me 93 weeks, ALMOST 2 YEARS.

And you're not counting vacations.

Of course you could say "hey but you're finding a lot of other stuff in the meantime that you can sell to get fusing orbs faster". Yes but this IS the problem. I'm not playing a hack and slash to end up trading half of the time. I want to PLAY the game.

To avoid that, a little more good stuff dropping and you wouldn't NEED to spend SO MUCH TIME farming and trading, you could actually level up with what you find up until level 80/85. Of course I am not asking for drops of full linked 6 socks ultimate armor + weapon, no, I'm asking for more reasonable good stuff and so far it doesn't happen.

You 100% right, BUT GGG force YOU and everyone to TRADE! GGG balance game ONLOY via TRADING and not anything else, just TRADE.

SO you MUST flip/steal/lier/fake lotto/sit 20Hours per day in a1n and trade/ etc boring stuff

GGG want economic syms
