A serious look at Blood Rage, the most broken gem in the game
" Low life is not really a choice. Id have played exclusively ll builds if i had shavs. It is just that powerful and fits almost all build types. Melee. Casters. Summoners. MF. All builds benefit from ll. It is not a.choice. it is limited by ones morals: do i rmt for shavs or not. This one item (lorica is a flop) makes ll builds a breeze (if people die it is because they play sloppy). And in some cases removal is a better than prolonged treatment. LL should be a temporary boost aimed at leaving LL status asap. Bonuses provided on low life are absurdly powerful and the mere fact that these can be 'on' all the time is stupid. And it is because of one idiotic item that turned nice mechanic into broken one. |

In re: "Lorica is a flop" I'm still in favor of a mid level item with "You take [>=200% more] chaos damage. 100% of chaos damage you receive is randomly converted to cold, fire, and lightning damage. Chaos resistance penalties apply to your elemental resistances." <- build enabling with clear drawbacks that can be compensated for by increased resource allocation (elemental resistances); not broken, but not useless.

" None of what you said addresses that instead of actually addressing each of the imbalanced elements that leads to it's ultimate state of power, you just say: Naw it's just bad let's make it unusable. I mean, such a conclusion follows investigation into all of the elements, and if, after attempting to fix all the elements, it is clear that it cannot be fixed, then you could consider making it unuseable. You start off backwards and just go let's remove the choice, before you really investigate the factors and can base that conclusion on valid reasoning. Consider that shavs and lorica are heavy indicators that GGG wants that choice and that they don't want: "LL should be a temporary boost aimed at leaving LL status asap". GGGS balancing decisions long ago convinced me that they have no clue about most gameplay aspects
Crown of terrible balance? Mjolner? Initial soultaker? Vaal pact change plus acuity? There are so many design flops that i do not think that drawing ANY conclusions whatsoever is justified. Theyve put shavs into the game. And then theyve put CoE. These two should make anyone doubt their understanding of their own game.. Fixing LL piece by piece is pointless. This enitre xoncept is rotten to the core and the mere fact that it is defined and enabled by one item and does not exist without it should be enough. This is not a 'build'. It is 'effectiveness multiplier for the rich' that works with any build. |

I'll tell you something bout CoE, I have an RF-specced character with zero damage nodes.
Zero damage nodes. I equipped CoE and put Cyclone in a 6L with a non-legacy Soul Taker, activated RF for the spell damage bonus. Broke 20k on Cyclone.
