vaal orb recipe
" There are 4 possible outcomes on armor gear: 1) Nothing (aside from becoming corrupt). 2) Rolls a random rare (6 affixes, randomly rolls sockets and links without weighting). 3) Gains white socket(s). 4) Rerolls (or adds if none exists) implicit mod. Nice. I was seriously considering ignoring corrupted zones altogether because they don't really serve much purpose for me (can't fight Atziri, don't trade). In Normal difficulty especially they had little purpose since they neither drop fragments nor the higher level Vaal skills. This should make them more worthwhile.
I can and will use the Vaal orbs to obtain good rares or corrupt spare uniques and certain strongboxes. |

I had three Lazhwars so I used a vaal on 1.
I immediately had a +4% block on it, sold it for 20 ex, the most currency I made so far. I will continue to use vaals on unique ammy's, rings and belts. On other uniques you first have to get the sockets and links, which is not worth it. |

My premise here is that people will change how they use them... now that we can effectively farm for them on low level areas. You can run areas in normal difficulty to get vaal areas which will give them "useless" skill orbs.
