[3.1] GLADIATOR 1H+Shield Max Block&Spell Block Tank + a BoR version

Been trying it out as ice crash and really would like some more dps , i may have to try out static strike as in 13+ maps the ice crash dps feels pretty slow.

I was doing 37.5k dps with increased aoe, I dont feel concentrated aoe is useable in any way.
Tonight I tried out phys to lightning instead of inc aoe, that bumped the dps to 48k and I could live with the size of the aoe. (this also makes you 100% elemental)

Short of change skill, replace all accessories with ones that have phys damage or find a gg weapon , i dont have many ideas. It feels too slow doing less than 55-60k but yeah its nice to be immortal , ive been playing variations of this build for some time , even a mjolner one i made myself last league.

A couple things i change in my variation
a)
I really have never felt the anvil is needed for the build , i noticed this first when i played as my mjolner version when i had to play with volls devotion on.
In hideout without tempest im sitting at 61% block, in map im generally at 72% block, ive never really had any issue running that much block I can still face tank bosses.


b)
I wanted to run hatred & ash, but warlords is nice to have for obvious reasons (i would have liked to keep determination but i have good enough gear to drop it)

I use:
CWDT lvl1 \ warlords lvl 5 \ increased aoe (inc aoe not needed but it was in a weapon so i had a slot)

this works fine and with 20 quality warlords the charge generation is not much worse.

I need to chuck vaal disc\haste\inc dur somewhere too, thats rather nice on bosses to bump the es pool

If there was a easy way for this build to get +1 curse that would be dope but the necks are not common and the +1 ring is not worth using.

For more trash clearing speed you need gratuidous violence - it clears almost as fast as my tornado shot ranger.

But I have a physical / poison build near at this build, but with my findings on prophecy league:


This synergies most in EQ and using a Vulnerability curse on blasphemy.

On the bright side you can ditch the hatred aura and go grace with IR conversion to easy reach 20K armor for fueling the Aegis.

8K paper DPS - but with every hit a double dipping bleeding and poison and moving unwilling targets around with a knockback totem, the read DPS is lots - in any case more than 30k.

You can even "hit & kite" strong bosses, since they bleed lots when they chase you while you flee drinking potions...

Your equipment is better than mine, and I have no problems with clearing 13 maps fast - trash is 1 or 2 hits with EQ ( the second is surplus, they die when the big EQ explosion comes out), most small bosses don't last longer than 2 seconds when they don't explode with their followers.

I loose all the time by picking up every rare and ID scroll ... packrat syndrom.

I love this guide, I find it extremely helpful, especially for people like me (new, no idea how to plan for endgame). Thank you!

EDIT: Four questions if I may:

1. You say in your text that you don't take Iron Reflexes (apparently, you think it's not worth it). But in your linked Passive tree, it's taken. Did you change your mind?

2. You get at least one +1 Frenzy charge nodes in your passives, but you don't seem to run anything which grants Frenzy charges (blood rage etc.). Or am I missing something obvious? Should we try to obtain Frenzy somehow?

3. I'm still leveling, doing nicely but need 2 mana flasks to keep up. How can you afford the mana costs and still reserve 85%?

4. You have 2 jewel nodes in your tree. Most other builds seem to take around 4. What do you use for jewels?

1. I've taken IR just so people can gear more easily. Hybrid gear is mostly easier to get and cheaper.

2. You get franzy charges from your ascendancy.

3. Read the auras used.

4. Life + damage and/or attack speed.

Well I'm still leveling. I attack so fast that when reserving 85% of mana the mana leech doesn't kick in fast enough / I don't have enough leech. Have Herald of Ash + Warlord's mark which is working well enough for pre-end-game content so far. I've had to invest in Revelry (next to the Endurance nodes right below Duelist start) and a bunch of Intel / Dex nodes to get me going until hopefully I can spec out of them later, just to equip stuff. You don't have this problem in endgame?

One last question: Since I was used to Juggernaut, I've become used to 45% running on all the time ;-) now I have un-equipped The Anvil and am not quite at 70 (for Lioneye's -- man that's going to be slow) until I think I can afford better stuff otherwise. Do you have particular thoughts on the slow movement speed of this build?

No, I never had any problems with mana, nor did anyone else report any ever since Blasphemy was introduced into the game.

Yes, use a movement skill :) leap slam+faster attacks+fortify

Haven't tried, but until they change melee significantly (which might be in patch 2.5.), I wouldn't recommend trying. Your DPS would be too low to finish the fight reasonably easy. Although, nothing is impossible.
