More testing with v3.5beta wrapper.
I'm afraid though this post isn't going to help to tackle the issues I've encountered. That is because I have tried to reproduce the errors myself but there is absolutely no consistency how the game starts or plays with this wrapper now.
I mean that the game screen/window can be different each time I start the game - even though I haven't changed any Options.
Here's something I did today. When I opened PoE for the first time I got a message that stated Errors with Content.ggpk. I just couldn't get past that so I re-installed the whole thing. I installed the wrapper from disk image again and tried to start I straight out. Would not start because "Content.ggpk is in use by other Program".
Then I moved that content file from the 3.1 wrapper and guess what - it worked like a dream, mouse was visible with default setting for the first time with this beta wrapper. Played a while and went to do something else.
Start again later - no mouse, stuttering sounds, terrible performance. Again, I changed no settings in between.
Funnily (?) enough, there are different sets of problems I encounter alternatively.
Either I have no mouse
Or performance is far too jerky
Or game starts in a window that is "off" and I can't do anything to change Settings because game crashes
Or Dock and Menubar are on top of the game, even when I start in full screen. Don't know how to change this, min/max screen no help
Or xterm stays above the game screen, game screen is off, and I can't change resolution because then game crashes
I am not making this stuff up, this is what happens to me, honestly.
I'll post logs later...
EDIT # 1
Wrapper v3.5beta, all settings default, except I unchecked "Force use of system installed XQuartz instead of..."
About 30 minutes play, sudden crash, no warning, nothing.

Hmm, same crash as above. so the wine mmap cache for is useless, will get rid of it.
Anyway, I see you have older mac. What version of OSX you are running?
As I write above, ATI/AMD gpu has serious graphic issues on versions prior to osx 10.7.4 , also, without forced xQuartz, how well the game run?
I hate it, but it seems I will need to make 2-3 separate wrappers.
1) The 3.1 will probably stay as "stable" version for OSX 10.6.8
2) NVidia version
3) ATI/AMD version
Yep, my Mac is getting old. It's a mid 2007 iMac, first generation of the aluminium ones. Apart from newer games, it's rather perfect for my uses. But I will most likely upgrade in the next six months...
I'm using OS X 10.8.2, I tend to upgrade whenever new version are released.
The game was actually running very nicely (without XQuartz forced) before that crash I reported in my previous post. No graphical glitches, all effects displayed properly, no lag to mention. I did use lower resolution, though.
I'll keep testing 3.5beta but I use 3.1 when I play more extensively. 3.1 is very stable in my opinion, I have no issues with that.

Hello again, another noob question. When I first installed the app it worked fine (yesterday), now today when I first open the app it opens a tiny window in the top left corner of my screen with the loading screen. Once the game loads it opens up a slightly larger window (still very small) with the home screen of the game. I tried resizing it and obviously the resolution is terrible. Any suggestions on how to get over this? Is there a way to change the resolution of the game that I am not seeing? I cannot click on the options bar because it cannot recognize the position of my mouse either. Thanks for all of your help!
Uploaded Beta2 version - get rid of the mmap cache, so it should not crash anymore with error in kernel32.dll
For testers: please test with forced xQuartz (default) and without forced (can be changed in Right click on wrapper>Show contents> Wineskin>Advanced>Options

Try to disable forced xQuartz (the steps are in my previous post)
Try to disable forced xQuartz (the steps are in my previous post)
It was not selected in the first place, so I tried selected in, nothing, then disabling it again, and still nothing. I went in and changed the display settings on Wineskin and now I am reinstalling PoE to see if that helps. I will let you know how it goes.

Again, I am a noob when it comes to this, and this is my first time using a wrapper! The games seems to download fine and opens, it is just the resolution is very bad and I cannot expand the window.
Thanks again for your help!
Edit: I am now also getting this message when trying to install the game again.

Maybe the installer failed...?
If you tried to install somewhere other than C: drive (drive_c in the wrapper) then you will get this message too. All software must be installed in C: drive.

10.6.8
Also found these. Also this is for 3.5. I'm not really having any issues with 3.1 except the long loading and loading between zoning between zones.

Ugh. the 10.6.8... and the AMD GPU combination. Sorry but cant help, the 10.6.8 have really bad graphic drivers for AMD, also some new things from wine are not supported, that is why the new wrapper crashes for you.
Welp. After reading the reviews of mountain lion :/ not sure if it really is worth the $20 to upgrade just for 1 game lol

Eh? why are you running install? The wrapper has launcher preinstalled, and never should give this message, unless you are using self-made wrapper.
