client.tmp entry point not found

Hi

I just downloaded the latest patch 0.11.2
After that there was another mini patch that keeps re-downloading.Is 8.08 mgb big.The game than fails to start with "client.tmp - Entry point not found" error.

Full message is "The procedure entry point GetTickCount64 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

I was playing the game just fine until the latest patch.

I use WinXP sp3.

thanx for any info you can provide.
Having this exact same problem. Windows XP SP3 also. Running on laptop with AMD Athlon and ATI graphics.
At this point we're advising players to double check that their firewall is not interferring and to run the pack check for any corruption https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/18531

I just did that, packCheck says that all hashes are in sync. Avast is deactivated, I have closed zonealarm and added an execption to winxp firewall, but i get the same message after the small 8mb downlaos about client.tmp, getTickCount64 and kernel32.dll.
Sorry for the inconvenience! We are looking into the cause of this issue presently.
I get the same error message on Win XP SP3 32-bit.

I have run the packcheck and the files check out.

I have tried renaming the client.tmp file to client.exe manually, since I realized that was the new launcher, but the error persists.

I rebooted and took the oppurtunity to update my adobe flash client, and my personal firewall asked me if the adobe installer could get access to the internet, so I know my firewall is operating correctly. The client.tmp never asks for access.

I googled the funcion "GetTickCount64" and according to Microsoft the minimum supported client for that function is Windows Vista. This may explain why calling the function on Windows XP results in an error in the kernel32.dll file. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms724411%28v=VS.85%29.aspx

In any case, I assure you this has nothing to do any firewall settings or corrupt download, this is a programming error.
Maybe test Patches on all possible Windows and OS Versions before launch. :P
Please read my posts twice before you answer, you are probably not smart enough to get the meaning of it but hey its still free2play.
