It might sound like its a waste of time, but until you build up enough skill gems to constantly have what you need in your stash, consider starting a new character simply for the early gems.

Without exaggeration, a new witch can be created, grab the gem you're looking for and 3 other early ones inside of about 10 minutes, then you can place them in the stash and delete the character. This way you can have the gems you want on the character you're currently playing.


FWIW: Gems are something that seems to drop at a consistent rate, but they are almost never consumed, you'll find yourself inundated with gems of most all types the longer you play. There are a few drop only gems that I still havent found, but they can be traded for.
