/ˈadik(t)/
noun
a person who is addicted to a particular substance

Addicts always blame their dealer for their problems. The dealer isn't providing enough product. The dealer is cheating them. The product is too expensive. The product is watered down compared to before. The list goes on and on.

Imagine coming straight off of 10+ yrs of injecting PoE1 straight between your toes into PoE2 EA 0.1 December 2024.

There was a lot of negativity from the poe1 vet side of the feedback - how much of that original negative backlash do you think was the result of irritability and psychological dysregulation associated with withdrawal from not having a similar 'dosage' of rewards stimulating their internal reward-feedback mechanisms just because they weren't yet as "good" at poe2 as they were poe1?

I heard Jonathan once mention that it was difficult to interpret feedback through "all of the noise" and I can definitely understand why. Games with gambling mechanics have to try very hard to make their gambling mechanics complementary to the other mechanics, otherwise it devours the entire game and player base - and it's not easy to do, because walking back anything that's deemed to be "too rewarding" can result in mega-backlash.

This is why I'm curious how the inevitable temple nerfs are going to go over for 0.5 lol.
