Quality is fantastic for minion builds. This is more an issue of quality not mattering much on some skills.

Exactly this, that's why is not so important becouse GL ascendary is mented to be for most non-minion builds or in some special cases for some partial companion support builds. I tried making a GL Minion build but encountered serious lacks in variety of minion element supports thous i abandoned it for something more (lonely wolf builds).

I beat all normal content including T1 Simulacrum with a Gemling minion build that had weak gear. Thunderstorm and muster Power Zealots with Rakiata's.

I played almost 1200hours with GL and Crossbow support. I tried also different weapons and builds. The main problem for this ascendancy is:

1. Combination between defence and Life points is bad.
2. Chaos damage is lacking extra defence support.
3. Waisted small nodes in Ascendancy that don't give any bonus
4. Two punishing Ascendancy nodes to a class that has the lowest DPS.

What I'm suggesting is:

1. Enhanced effectivenes should give fourfold bonus strength,dexterity and intelligence couse in current state Chars can't reach 3,5k life wich is the minimum protective level for 50/50 survibility. 2,5-3k leads always to death. And im talking about tough Endgame maps. Also it will boost significant the non existent mana points. (600-800 is meh)

2. Small passive nodes in Ascendancy should provide:
a. 30% reduced chaos damage taken.
b. 8% skill speed.
c. 50% increased presence.
d. 50% increased minion and companion life.

With this way weaknesses should balance the lack of passive tree especially to those who play with crossbow and need to invest in 50% more things than other type of weapons.

3. Integrated Efficiency is very weak despite the first view as it is. Increased damage per red support gems should be 50%. Also 10% increased skill speed per green and 30% increased critical per blue.


Overall the problem lies to players that don't want to use any unique item in their gear and playing mostly with Crossbow skills. The DPS overall is 1/3 of other classes.
Gemling was my first character! I would not make another one with how they changed it.

BEFORE or AFTER the result remains very disappointed. Not even close to barely acceptable....


Crystaline Potential and Advanced Thaumaturgy should be merged to one node on the position of Advanced Thaumaturgy. With this way it will save a place for something more powerful to fill gaps in Life and defence. Also small passives are very very weak. Giving 2% quality doesn't support all build variations couse crossbow skills wan't get increased effects.
