They are similar invested characters. And the warrior has less nodes on the tree for their defense.


The reason for it is "10k ES and I feel safe" seems to be a common sentiment that gets thrown around, and it really is just not, at all in a vacuum.

10k ES like you said really is nothing.

The armour value as well, its brass dome doing some heavy lifting (also I dont take crit damage)

Pure Armour was perfectly good. I had no shield, just Armour, life and Armour to ele dmg. It was genuinely good. I had 25k Armour and 3.5k life.

Pure Evasion was complete garbage. I died on every map whilst having over 90% evasion and 70%+ deflect. I had low life tho, like 2.6k.

Pure ES was way worse than Armour. With 12k es I was stunlocked into oblivion even with 50% es to stun threshold nodes.

Es/Ev was glorious as Evasion is amazing to just avoid stunlocks and ES is easy ehp substance. This combo just works nicely.

I haven't tried arm/es as it wasn't supported yet, but my mate made it this league and he loves it. I die more often than him with my ES/EV setup. He got 20k arm and 4k es. Undying hate amanamu for mitigation.

Armour/Evasion is a joke.

I also tried life stacking Reap build, but with capped resistances. 5.5k life, no Armour no nothing. It was better than ES imo.

You need around 40k armour *just on gear*. Yes you can stack armur to absurd values *with a specific unique* and a *specific ascendancy* and only *in a trade league*.

I can stack over 10k ES from floor drops. It's not even close in investment.

The armour one that can go WAY higher. The brass dome I got was a budget version one. And several items I have with armour rolls are rolled low
•boots t4 armour
•gloves t3 armour/health hybrid
•helm t3 armour/mana hybrid

Again super budget character.


The "ES character" I linked is a hybrid, but it was to illustrate that even with its extra defense with the whole "10k ES" talking point.



It is still would get destroyed in nearly every parameter we could throw at both of these characters. One shots in this game included. The warrior can survive arbiters mechanics for example. The 10k ES character cannot.

The point was to illustrate how restrictive it is, and you caught onto it in your post.

Where you need a unique chest, and specific ascendancies to get up to where armour really feels good. ES you can just get that regardless of ascendancy or needing a unique
