Atziri Bossfight Feedback

HUGE (Cosmetic) BUG
Atziri did not stand centered in the Arena.

She spawned close to the Mirror/Portal instead...
which means i could not see her “valuable Assets”, which makes me sad & salty.

//NOTE: I had a Crash while opening the Atziri's Vault Door, close to her Boss encounter; then i re-started the Game (the Door was open now) and entered the Bossfight; maybe that caused the BUG?

Phase 1
//NOTE: She (Atziri) feels a bit squishy in terms of HP.

I tried to dodge most of her “stronger” abilities, so i cant really tell how much dmg they actually do...
...her “normal” attacks seemed kinda under-tuned thou.

I remember that her "PoE1 spear chuggs" did hurt way more in comparison.

Phase 2
I dont like that she turns into a ugly Flesh-worm (purely from an aesthetic standpoint).

Hard to simp over her in that state...

Its really hard to tell where the safe spot is supposed to be.

I tried standing near the “Beast Eye” because it looked safe... and i assumed that Atziri would never hurt her beloved Beast...
//NOTE: it was not safe xD

I died at full HP 3108 + Mana 2681 (~40% dmg taken from Mana before Life).

Could not apply Enfeeble etc. because the boss “vanished” (? or iam blind...) while channeling the red Nova, nor could i recover my "life overflow".
//NOTE: This might have been a misplay of mine/Skill issue; maybe i just should have "finished" her instead of trying to dodge the mechanic!

And yea... i dont like “Instant Death” mechanics.
They are just cheap and dont add anything positive to the fight.

In this case the expanding Nova (Red "circle thingy") felt like an instant‑death mechanic with unclear safe zones to me.

Dilemma:
If the safe zones are unclear → it feels unfair.
If the safe zones are clear and easy to reach → the mechanic becomes pointless.

So in both cases it ends up being a boring & bad mechanic, imho.

Suggestion:
She should spawn this Nova while fighting, layering it with her normal attacks.
But it should never one‑tap on its own.
(Maybe just deal around ~2k Damage and apply a very strong and long "Bleed effect" instead?)

General Note about Boss Design (imho):
Bosses should NEVER leave the Boss Area (or hover above it, being invincible) to “do mechanical stuff” like:

Channeling a Meteor → Sirus

Bullet Hell → Shaper / Exarch

Flame Corridor → Arbiter

...

This usually stops the actual fight (the action) and replaces it with some cheap one-shot mechanic just to artificially increase difficulty.

Furthermore:
These mechanics punish only certain builds that need the boss to be target-able (e.g. Slayer leech, curses, etc), while other builds (ES tanks) barely care at all.

...

Better approach:
Keep the boss in the Arena, keep fighting, and layer a lower‑dmg version of the mechanic over the existing fight.

The lower the Boss HP the more "pressure" the Boss should execute to defeat the Player:
More Speed, tighter cooldowns, more Aggression, layered Mechanics, smaller "Windows of Opportunity" for the Player to counter, etc.

TL;DR
Overall a pretty cool fight thou;
Just a bit short, even with a zero‑DPS melee build...

Her second Phase should look "prettier" (imho) xD

One-shot Boss abilities are not rly cinematic & unfun (imho)

Next time i try it with 20k ES i guess -.-

same feeling.

3 fight against here all time the same conclusion.

Gigarednova kill me without any clues to know where to go. So I guess I have to keep my burst in order to skip that mecanics.

I try to watch youtube video. They all one shot her.
I have the same problem and i'm HCSSF, i died to this stupid mechanic covering the whole arena....

i remember Mark and Jonathan saying in an interview that if a mechanic seems UNFAIR it should be changed/removed, and it's exactly what it is...

Lot of people claims that in fact you can't dodge it, it's a just a DPS check, so you have to quickly burst her 20% last life or you die which sounds to be a WONDERFUL game design !

I'm super interested in this, maybe we'll have a softcore player in the community that can fight and record that phase to let us see where are the "safe" zones (if they exist.....)

Tried this fight for the first time, as usual, GGG is obsessed with bleed/corrupted blood spam that pure casters have no defense against. Oneshot nova can be evaded by standing at the far right/left corners, but growing frequency of bleed balls will eventually hit you when boss is 10% hp and less, at which point it is a matter of time when all ES gets drained with no recharge.

TLDR: class balance is through the bottom once again.

Pretty sure the left corner is not always safe, i stayed there and it was fully covered by the red growing nova.... i've checked this video :

hmm it was definitely safe for me. Maybe atziri can be affected by random mods from the temple? Wouldn't be the first time (map bosses, sanctum, ultimatum). RNG mods break original choreography of unique monsters and turn them into "just dps it down before it sneezes at you"

Still looking for players feedbacks about the nova Flesh Bubble and where the player has to stay to survive.

Really hope someone in the community will record an Atziri fight and let her do that phase to figure out this.

Atziri and The Architect are no longer affected by map modifiers in the Vaal Temple.


She probably had increased aoe which made nova wider than intended. If only GGG removed exp penalty and attempt limit until they fix all this crap... sigh, who am I kidding?:)
