No boss citadels on the Atlas – bug? PoE2 0.4.0c

I think it is... Level 85 and not a single citadel / no beams visible in any direction.
Doesn't really matter if you can find citadels, I think I've failed the last four. And it's one of the worst feelings I've ever had in a video game. And it happens every season, because they intentionally leave them overtuned.
Oh by the way they force you to run them with 6 mods so when you get the boss to 20% or less health and he pulls some cheesy one shot on you, you don't get a second chance at it gg you just wasted the last several hours of your life pushing towards that citadel too. Lost currency, lost experience, holy shit it's such a terrible gameplay loop at the moment with the current boss tunings.
Closer to 200 maps ran.

But yeah. This is one of those things that, to me, just clearly show the contradictions in GGG's vision vs their game design. Like they want us to approach magic mobs with care, they want people to parry rares and uniques to set up a freeze mechanic to get a power charge .. and then they implement game design where you need to repeat the same content 100 times over just to get a single chance at something else lol.

Thankfully GGG never implemented the vision they originally used to advertise PoE2 with. Right now I really like the game, and I don't think I would if they had stuck to the parry-chargegen-combo-etc stuff. Like this would be unbearable if you couldn't run maps in 1-2 minutes a piece, single button killing everything.
Level 96 on my first character and moved well over 10 screens in two different directions away from spawn with no citadels. Ended up having to resort to buying fragments to beat Arbiter. Please change this RNG aspect of the endgame atlas, it's tiresome and frustrating.

Pretty sure they have something in mind to work on the system but endgame rework just didn't make it into 0.4.

I'm expecting a big W in this department for 0.5.

what i usually do is go in one direction. once i find some, you know they're around there. if i keep going in one direction for too much longer its as tho the citadels cease to exist. so then i go back to where i had citadels, and go to the sides from there, and they're all over the place again
I'm 200+ hours into this league, hundreds of maps, and I still haven't found a single citadel...
Me neither, no citadels yet...Almost completed all other trees but no citadel yet :/...

Bonkers honestly.

I'll try the north thingie and come back with an update.. I usually do around 20-40 maps a day and will probably use the map skipping stuff.

Update : went north for like 5 grand projects, and still no citadel...I went also south when started to play and no citadel. Simply nothing there..

Don't fall for the go north stuff.

Edited: 6 hours into trying to find a citadel, wasted 10 grand percursors tablets, went only north cuz yea, got baited, and nothing.

It's nothing wrong with them being rare, but I cannot even see one in any kind of direction.

For me this league is practically over, I wasted my time trying to build the temple, wasted my time with other stuff that seem to be bugged or I do not know what's happening...

Maybe next time they can test it better, because right now it seems that there are a lot of bugs and you barely know what is a bug and what not.
