Same thing happens to me since last night at launch, but only once I got to the graveyard portion of act 1, it didn't happen before that. For me it shows muddy tiles on maps, I cant see equipment, flasks, or inventory. Also cant see vendor items although the items are still highlighted, you cant see the texture. Only when I restart the game does it restore, but it comes back right away, sometimes loading new zones or going waypoints will fix it but it happens randomly.

" I'm gonna highlight this comment, because I almost updated my drivers due to the other person. Thanks for testing and saying that it's not the issue. I REALLY don't wanna update my drivers, since in 0.3 when I did that (because GGG keeps annoying us with that message) my performance TANKED in not just POE2 but a lot of games. Apparently there was some NVIDIA + Windows Update issue and apparently it was solved recently, but I still don't wanna update cause everything EXCEPT POE2 is working perfectly. Anyway, crazy that this made to FOURTEEN PAGES and GGG STILL hasn't acknowledged the problem. |

I found a work around which might shine light on what the problem is .
When you enter an area and it doesn't load , switch to Vulkan then back to Dx12 and it loads everything fine . |

I can confirm that switching to DX11 does allow all textures to load at the expense of extreme lag spikes. I suspect in DX11, poe2 always retrieves the textures from disk causing the lag while in DX12/Vulkan it overflows and simply removes textures from most or all surfaces.
It seems like for whatever reason, 0.4 requires more VRAM than previous versions. This also makes me think that the individual that reported seeing the issue on a 4090 may be a special case as the vast majority of the reports here are with 4GB of VRAM or less. " Worst-case-scenario might be that GGG never responds to this issue, suggesting that we're just shit-out-of-luck and that our hardware just isn't good enough. Which (hopefully) shouldn't be the case...since the texture issues weren't present in previous patches that worked fine from a technical standpoint otherwise afaik. |
