If the map bosses are not nerfed for next season, there will be a HUGE drop in player count.
After the recent "buff" to map bosses, beating maps has just gotten MUCH more difficult with non-meta builds.
I am a player who started in season 1 and I have so far banked over 1600 hr in the game. Recently, I started a new lighting spear Amazon just for fun, and after spending 200+d on the character is still having an extremely hard time killing standard t15 map bosses. I clear the entire map without any problem by flying through everything but then i see a regular boss I just get 1 shot.... while there are builds out there that wipes all bosses with 150% IIR....like this is just insane. Any build with 200+D sunk into it should clear content easily! Right now I have to switch to my end-game minion infernolist to kill those bosses. I am extremely lucky that minion build is actually fairly strong this season and I started off by playing a meta build. Or else, I actually just cannot progress. For new players next season, I wonder if anyone else is gonna try to play a non-meta build at all....the moment they run into a boss, they are gonna realize the content is just insanely hard, that this is actually the wrong game to play if they want a cookie-cutter casual game play experience. " Several people seem to have reported that after 0.3.1, the bosses were a tier harder than they had been before the patch. Can you remove two atlas boss passives and run the same content you were running before? This doesn't seem like a problem to me, fyi. A lot of people were asking for the game to be harder. And maybe it is. SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

this was my favourite patch until the mid league patch with forced bosses. that patch ruined the league for me. its not even that they force us to kill bosses its that they buffed their damage 10 times how it used to be. now you either skip bosses or you accept that you will never level up again.

" Depending on your build. If you were playing Lightning Spear, you would not have been able to beat T14 with maxed-out Altar boss level. The different before and after the patch is night and day. For players who has beaten all of the end-game content before, starting a new character with a non-meta build is just horrible. I have over 100k dps on my lighting spear and 17k deflection + 65% chance to deflect....that said, I started to question whether playing a HP-based evasion class character is all that smart after all.... |

" Sure bud. Started as chonk this league, switched to invoker late. Bosses just have more health. They hit the same. Red slams kill, everything else is a build issue. |

They only really feel bad if your running Delirium, outside of that they are mostly fine.
I certainly would prefer the option to skip bosses back again though. They could just have map completion be on EITHER all rares dead or boss dead so people can play them how they want. |

map bosses are much much more difficult this time around. I wouldn't say difficult but just unforgiving. If you slightly lag, or couldn't move in time because of a pebble, or icy patch on the ground where the boss is standing and not moving, or got hit with temporal chains during boss fights= dead.
Cuz nobody is surving more than 2 regular hits from a boss. |
