Dont make the game any faster and easier.

I have to preface this with: i am playing warrior. I am not zooming around with lightning arrow on a rhoa. Also i am not min/maxing anything. I dont stack rarity and i am not making tons of currency with trading. I am just playing the game and picking up what i find.

Still i feel the game is way too easy and fast. What do i mean by that?
After playing, poe2 overlay tells me how much time i spent on maps. The time i currently need to clear t15/16 maps (including all content like rituals, delirium, breaches...) is between 2 and 5 minutes. (And we are only 4 weeks into the season).

Considering that i am not playing a particularly fast build, faster builds can problably clear some maps in under a minute.

Why is that a bad thing? Because there is no challenge to anything. They have designed a lot of different monsters with a bunch of different mechanics. But i never have to interact with any of it because nothing can hurt my character and everything dies in one hit.
It doesnt matter if i fight normal map enemies or if there are delirium monster or abyss creatures. The only difference is that one looks green and the others dont. But in terms of gameplay there is no difference because non of the attacks are able to kill me and non of the monsters have enough life to survive anything i do.

Same is true for bosses. I really liked playing the campaign because at that stage of the game you have to actually interact with all the cool boss mechanics they have designed. Especially the Act 4 bosses are really cool and creative in my opinion. But in the endgame this doesnt really show anymore. You dont have to watch for specific boss attacks to dodge them. You dont have to "learn" the fight. Instead i just wait for the boss to finish his monologue and than kill it in a few seconds before it can do anything. That really isnt engaging gameplay. If i can do the same gameplay loop exactly the same in every map and against every boss, than there is really no reason to have different enemies at all.

Since the next season is the one where they want to really tackle the endgame, i sincerely hope they will adress this. The vision they initially described of poe2 being different and having more meaningfull gameplay really intrigued me. But the endgame right now really doesnt deliver on that.

This is probably a controversial opinion but i dont think there should be any build that can oneshot bosses. Not even map bosses. And i definitely should feel a difference between fighting different monsters. Not plowing through everything all the same.

You need to go deeper if you want more challenge, get a map with deadly mods (less life recovery, burning ground, rare monster with more random mods), add 3 concentrated çiquid isolation, I think you will find the fun you're looking for.
i remember jonathan describing how they made different AI behaviour for monsters so the react differently in combat xDD
Or all the boss mechanics you never get to see because bosses die in 2 seconds

I wonder how much development time was wasted on all of this when the whole screen just gets blown up in with 1 click

I appreciate the tips. A friend i play with on a regular basis told me the same thing: "you need to put enough delirium % on the map". Tried it, didnt make a difference. I am honestly not sure if burning ground even does dmg. Since armour applies to elemental damage since the start of this season, there is really no source of elemental dmg that can hurt a warrior.

Maybe i wasnt specific enough when i wrote "i dont juice maps". I dont do it on a regular basis to farm currency. I absolutely tried it to get a challenge. Didnt really work.

In my opinion: If 4 weeks into the season i struggle to find any content that is even somewhat challenging... than maybe the endgame is jut not hard enough. And i think thats not only true for mapping. Its also true for all the endgame bosses.
No make it MUCH faster, and HARDER.

Even my 40 year old ass is taking naps between needing to dodge.

The deadliest thing is PoE2 is not falling asleep waiting for that once in a map thing you might need to dodge out of. Mind you you could likely just accidentally move slightly to the left and the maps once chance to kill you passed by unnoticed.

Maybe i should add that this is not specific to my character. In my friend group we all have a similar experience. My brother for example plays a witch. obviously he is not as tanky as i am but his dmg is so high that monsters die off screen.

Last season i tried warrior, ranger, witch, sorceress and monk. Same experience with all characters. As soon as you have somewhat decent gear the endgame becomes trivival.

You didnt read the original post at all, didnt you?

I said exactly the same thing as you ;) . Make the game harder. Its way too easy.
Thing is, if you make it faster it wont get harder... At least not in a good way. Like if you move even faster around as player than you are now, the only thing that can kill you is random or badly visible oneshots from offscreen or on-death effects.
because the monsters are way faster than the player! If they ever nerf all the monster speed by like 100% in endgame, everything will be fine and you will be able to enjoy the slow and methodical combat. But if they insist not nerfing it, making the player faster is the right and only way.
