Insane amount of blur.

so when I was trying to record the blurry effect Nikuksis came into the channel and pointed out that it is the sigil of power distortion effect. I guess it supposed to last for a second or so but it lingers for the entire duration and makes it super annoying.
There are a myriad of performance issues and I actually haven't been able to pin down what does and doesn't cause them to flare up. I think it's a multi-pronged issue around shaders, and some animations and interactions that are throwing unsolvable PHD-thesis math problems at the CPU/GPU when they appear at certain angles or during other common, but not persistent scenarios.

A lot of issues with Abyss and Abyss mobs - but then sometimes not. Shocked and ignited ground seems to contribute to some issues. A lot of corpses on the ground seems to cause issues. Some of the new Act 4 Karui-themed mobs cause big frame drops (I want to say it's the turtles, but it's a hunch). Maps with a lot of tall foliage. I always seem to have issues on Bastille.

Sometimes you can just be walking around a map with all the monsters already dead and CPU usage will spike up insanely high and cut the frames down to 20fps.

With monsters that are alive and other skill effects, that same area is literally a slideshow - less than 1 fps.

I'll restart my computer one day, and the game seems to run better. I'll do it again, and it seems to run worse.

I have a 5800X3D and a 7800XT and I game at 3440x1440 - my PC isn't the TOP of the TOP, but it's also not anything to scoff at. The last patch was an improvement but there's still a ways to go.

The only thing that actually works for me consistently is running the game at 77% rendered resolution with upscale, and I gotta say, it looks SO BAD doing that. I'd prefer if there was a better middle ground because at these settings, I've had better looking games on my Steam Deck.

Right now I'm choosing between if I want my game to look like it's from 2005, or have it look BEAUTIFUL, but run into powerpoint frame issues every other waystone.

I feel like some of the blurry skill effects could be forgivable if everything else was crisp, or they didn't occur when dynamic resolution kicked in - make it the first effect to be culled or something, because it makes something that's looking bad look even worse.

I am praying for performance improvements in future patches. 0.2 felt okay - there were some moments of bad performance but they were few and far between and it didn't feel like they completely paralyzed my CPU. 0.3 has introduced some real performance problems.
Agree. This game graphic is too ba. There are so many unnecessay visual effect make fps drop off. Mob, corpses, especially dellirium fog
Might be some other effect. Though dynamic resolution is actually bad for POE 2, at least from my experience. The game is heavily CPU bound when a lot of stuff is happening on screen. Dynamic resolution scaling shifts more of the load to the CPU making things slow down and look even more blurry until things calm down again.

I got some really good results this week however by enabling the newish Nvidia tech called Nvidia Smooth Motion. Game looks and runs so much better that it feels like I upgraded my system.

Sigil of power causes this blur for me and it’s just gross and unnecessary 😫

Same with culling, just more load to cpu, game actually works way better with culling off.
