Insane amount of blur.
Every game mechanic like strongboxes/essences/abyss/expedition etc even just bosses have these. In options I have blur reduced as low as it goes but it is not related to this. It is a dome like blur layer applied once the mechanic is started and stays after finished i.e. strongbox opened or essence monster die or map boss die etc and stays for at least 10+ seconds then disappear. Insanely irritating to eye. Why is this even in the game? I know devs like to use blur every time they can because it makes the game look better and smoothen edges but this is something else.
I asked this in global chat but people don't know what I'm talking about makes me believe they don't see it or don't have it? What could cause this and how to get rid of it? I'm pretty sure this is a game feature people just don't find it annoying or don't even notice it. Images: https://imgur.com/a/KjBs18K I zoomed in just to make it easier to see but you can see it is so blurry even on the zoomed out pictures. So after like 10+ seconds it disappears and turns to normal. You could see on the zoomed out picture that the edge of the picture is not blurred it is just around the mechanic or monster corpse in a dome like shape like a circle or patch. I have a pretty high end PC. I tried with upscaling on/off makes no difference. Everything is on default settings. Using DX12. Nothing wrong with my pc. Edit: The issue is Sigil of Power's distortion effect. Apparently it should only last for a second or so but it lasts the entire duration and makes it super annoying and noticable. +1
Even some skills have blur applied to them by default, it's really annoying and makes visibility even worse |

Adding a +1 cause my shockwave totems actually make me motion sick to look at sometimes

Dynamic resolution is off ?
| |
" its not Dynamic Resolution. It is intended distortion vfx applied on purpose. Someone from devs thinks it looks cool. Just like camera shake effect, but shaking can be disabled. But this not only looks very bad , but also fries GPUs a lot, there's a lot of this in abysses and each abyss my GPU goes into 100C Update: Ok perhaps i'm wrong about not-dynamic-resolution, but then its FSR issue. FSR 2 looks extremely bad currently on visual effects. ![]() ![]() update #2: when i throttle gpu frequency for PoE2 by 10% it still gives the same amount of FPS, but almost 15-20 degrees lower heat. Question is, what are these extra 10% power doing? Dernière édition par Nikuksis#6962, le 30 sept. 2025 à 08:15:17

It is not dynamic resolution nor upscaling. I tried either of these on / off and it is still the same.
You can literally see that not the entire picture is distroted only in a circle / dome like shape around the mechanic/monster corpse. The edge of the screenshots are not blurry. You can move left and right under this blurry layer and find its edge and go back and fort. I will make a twitch clip of this or something soon. " Yes, but looks like upscaling is applied differently in different effects/parts of the screen. For example bugged bug nests (sorry for pun), water in Act3 town, sand in Act 2 town, most of skill vfx. Especially noticable on curses which are blurred so much with upscaling that almost invisible. Turning off upscaling fixes it, but lowers fps a lot and makes different things look too sharp (e.g. disgusting grass in hunting grounds) |

" I know what you mean the curse icon above monsters are so blurry too but also things like sigil of power on the ground and the character but things like lootfilter is not blurred. I will make some sort of clip right now to showcase exactly what it is like. It is not upscaling what makes it this blurry. Dernière édition par Ispita#4020, le 30 sept. 2025 à 08:19:59
